Twisted Fury Surface
« on: March 22, 2008, 08:17:03 AM »
Was wondering what some of you guys have been doing to the surface. I just got one used and for me it goes a pinch too long for me. I was thinking about putting it at 4000 or 2000 abralon to get it to start up a bit eariler with out killing the ball. Any ideas? Right now the ball is very smooth and I think would work great on a roughed up house shot so I might leave it alone, just wondering what you Big B guys think?

i started with the box finish i also found it squirty, my proshop friends dulled it with 600 grit, I LOVE IT. i've found the ball very predictable and versitle now. i can just rip it now and it is easy to trust.

I've used mine at 2000 abralon and it was quite good.

Well went and bowled a 9pin tourny tonight and the ball really came alive once I got the right release with it. Started about hitting the 3rd arrow out to the 5 board at the break with a strong move on the backend. The lanes broke down and by the 3rd game I was rolling over the 20 and keeping the break point at the 5 board.

So, I didn't even have to switch balls and the ball stayed consistent. Most of the time I have to switch balls by the 1st frame of the second game because the other balls usually get inconsistent at the break point.

Shot a 286 (10 to start), 231 (7-10 first ball in the 10th), then a 242 (two opens got me).

Even those thats just 9pin, those were the first games with this ball and I think with a little practice this ball is going to be a beast. Can't wait to try it on the Scorpion this week.

I got my Twisted Fury the 2nd week of January and have done nothing to it since other than clean it after every bowling session with Black Magic Ultimate Rejuvenator. Works perfect for me as it came NIB.

Yeah I think I'm liking it now, just bowled one game before the tourny on different lanes and it just wasn't working but once I got practice with it during the tourny practice time, I figured out how to roll it and it matched up well with 2nd shift oil. It was very strong so I think Im going to leave it alone for now as well.

Recently, I took my twisted from box finish to 2000 finish. I think the 2000 abralon finish pushes the ball down the lane longer than box...go figure.
