« on: February 11, 2008, 11:47:16 PM »

I just bought fury pearl and really like, I have the mid lane & back end hook drill with pin below ring finger. Would like to know best drill for ultra zone to complement the fury pearl. Have thought about rico drill for the ultra but wasn't sure alsop have widow pearl for when they break down alot.

You could try the Rico and probably like it, but I think we need a little more information:
Where is your PAP?
How about ball speed?
Are you trying to play a different part of the lane with the Ultra?

When in doubt, try any layout that you've been successful with and then adjust the surface if necessary. You'll love the Ultra Zone.

The Ultra should be earlier than the Fury Pearl since it's a hybrid vs. a pearl reactive. It's not as early as the Blast Zone for me, but with same cover prep it should be earlier than the FP.

Put a layout that you've had success with and enjoy! Read the other post on here regarding Rico that Ric Hamlin discussed variables for very high track bowlers. That may answer your question.

Looking at the Brunswick comparison chart the UZ is shown a few spots below the Vapor Zone.  Should be a little smoother off the spot than the VZ and handle the same amount of oil.

Now compared to the FP it's supposed to handle the same volume of oil, but is earlier due to the rollier core...

IMHO you can either go with a Sidewinder (possibly adding polish) or a Twisted Fury to accomplish what you are looking for, maybe a Rampage too...
