if i get a Radical Inferno..
« on: February 15, 2007, 03:31:09 AM »
would it be able to fit in my arsenal in any way possible...

Arsenal:
Phoenix - Heavy
Equation - Medium
Desert Heat - Dry

(layouts of Equation and Desert Heat in profile, haven't recieved the Phoenix yet)

Give me some opinions, i wanted to try this ball, and have no idea if i can fit it somewhere. Thanks!

My Equation is MUCH stronger than a normal mid-priced ball, sometimes it's a little too strong, and the PIN is pretty far from my PAP (5 1/2 inch PIN to PAP) .. so maybe if i drill the Radical pretty weak, then it can fit that spot well?

The Radical is complete guess as to what it's going to do, it may end up being stronger then the Phoenix or weaker then the Heat.

Just slap your favorite drilling on it and hope for the best.

I would get an Equation 2 instead...
I like Brunswick but had some terrible luck with my Radical.

The Equation 2 has a higher RG and lower Diff than the EQ 1, so it will go longer than the EQ1 will.

From the things I've heard about the Radical, I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole.  Well, maybe it it was free.

FastTracker, why not try a Black Widow?  That'll give you a different look than your Track stuff if you're looking to try branching out.

Mr. Lebowski, this is Bill Salnicker with the Southern Cal Bowling League, and I just got a, an informal report, that a member of your team, uh, Walter Sobchak, drew a firearm during league play. If this is true of course, it contravenes a number of the league's by-laws, and article 27 of the league...

My Radical is a fun ball to throw. Out of the box was too extreme for my taste. I've experimented with varying degrees of polish, but have pretty much settled on zero polish and about 2000 abralon.

This ball's strength is the versatility of the cover. From extreme skid/snap to much more predictable with less shine, or no shine. It can really cover the boards on the backend if you'll let it.

I wouldn't call it a heavy oil ball under any circumstance, but definitely a medium oil ball (2000 abralon) or a very strong dry lane ball (with polish).

Here's what Bowling This Month said after it's release: "The lanes have to be pretty dry for this ball not to perform...  If you only want one or two balls, this should be one of them. Very few balls are as capable of handling a wide variety of lane conditions."

I had bad luck with your Radical too.

It was such juggling act of trying to get the right surface prep to get the ball to read consistently and get it to kick the corners out...I finally threw in the towel a few weeks back with mine.
