If this is correct (and why should there be any doubt?), then the VZ is either pretty pointless, or it is the final sign that the Infernos are about to disappear... much like the ZC replaced the OI and ran in parallel for some time to introduce the Zone line.
With these specs, the VZ is 90+% the same as the AI, just with the asymmetric core drilling option. The UI has already been "replaced" by the SZ, the RI by the IZ. I am just wondering why they came out with the SI (which is agood ball) still under the Inferno label?

Thank you for the specs. Any info on the BVP Ambush yet? I'd like to know where it will fit.

VZ being also a bit more angular compared to the AI.

The Zone series offers similar reactions to the Inferno series but for people who prefer the Asymmetric look. There not ment to replace the high performance lines.

They're also a little cheaper.

Yes, true, cheaper and different core. But, nevertheless, two balls THAT similar does not make much sense to me? Brusnwick's asymmetrics are not that strong that there should be a big reaction difference?
The VZ does not fill a gap IMHO, which the Ambush does.

220 with Rough Buff is the same box finish as the Absolute.

Same as Ultimate Inferno-Strike zone. Basically, Brunswick takes the most popular coverstock out of the high performance line from the previous year, throws an assymetrical core in it with somewhat similar stats, and makes a fortune. Why you would buy an still buy an ai, inferno, or ultimate inferno when you have such similar balls really boggles my mind. Like you can't drill the damn ball to react nearly identical to the high performance counterpart?

But it would still be asymmetrical.  Some people just don't like asymmetrics.  The high-performance version also comes out, what, six or eight months earlier than the Zone version.

so...the vapor zone is similar to the ai....of course not the same but just similar...if i drilled a vapor zone the same as my ai...i would get the same reaction...so bascially if this is true then brunswick is trying to sell more ai's under a diffrnt name...huh?

I personally see enough difference between the symetrical and asymetrical to warrant there being both lines with the same covers. I don't care for asymetrics for my game, but many bowlers prefer them. This is the reason we do what we do, to accomodate all needs with a complete selection. In no way are we attempting to sell the "same" ball under different names. Some pro shops love the asymetrics, some don't. There will always be a need for both.
