I just got the Fury the other day.  Had it punched up with layout 2E.  And left it OOB.  And this ball did nothing for me.  I was shooting on a THS oiled to 38' and this ball did nothing for me.  I could only get it to move 5-6 boards.  I throw 16-17 mph with medium rev rate. Any suggestions?

The cover is too strong for many out of the box. Try to adjust it to between 1000 and 2000 abralon to see if you get a better reaction. You can always add the rough buff later if desired.
 
This ball will be great for you once you match up the surface with your particular game and conditions that you're seeing.  I've got two of them; one that I keep duller, and one with the rough buff.  They are very nice to have in the bag.

mine is very frustrating. its drill with the pin next to ring finger and im not sure but i think the cg is kicked alittle right out of the palm, has small x hole. i got it used. i have tried oob, 400 wetsand, 400 wetsand with two coats of polish, and 1000 grit sand with polish (around 1300-1500grit). its just not what i thought it would be at all. i think it was drill for more of a high track player who likes to throw straight. i am the opposite. very low track player who likes to cover alot of boards. i want this ball to be what its made for. an early strong hook? i have not seen a stacked drilling on any of these. is there some reason why?

I know that I had to bring mine up to 1000 Abralon to have it get down the lane before it made a move. I am wondering if yours is burning up like mine did. Just add a little polish or bring up the cover and see what happens.

A friend of mines got one punch, and I dont know the specs on it, but the ball rolls like a ping pong ball, just bounces off everything.  no drive or any power.  He left a pocket 5-8-10 with it.

Zone---You may have multiple issues. I track low to middle and my balls are drilled with considering my track and PAP. On my balls the pin placements are near the middle finger so that I could get the most out of the core in the balls or so says my driller. I think your balls should be likewise. You may still need a surface adjustment-- I would work on finding the correct surface first.

Thanks for all the help guys.  But I went to bowl league tonight and talked to the manager of this bowling alley that will remain nameless.  And long story short the new pit guy screwed with the dials on the oiler and flooded the lanes.  On my second try with this ball OOB 762, ball hits like a truck and I couldn't be happier

  New guy comes in, thinks he knows it all, and almost causes you to trash a great ball by screwing up the oiler.

  Lucky for you that you figured it out before trashing it.  For me, the FURY has been a really good ball, once I got the cover finish right.

well i got to agree with you.. i got mine drilled rico, pin below my fingers center span, cg kicked out 430 but no weight hole needed, and it does need oil.  first time out bowled 215-225-198.  next time lanes had less oil and it would run out of pop when it hit the pins.  decided to hit it with light polish (2000 grit, dimes worth), got a better reaction but got some weird hits and its speed sensitive.  but lanes are drying up a bit, so now i hit it with storm xtra shine.  havent thrown it yet with this much more polish, i used my storm eraser and had better results.  overall i really like this ball, its easy to read but you have to match the coverstock to the lanes you're bowling on and you have to be able to make adjustments, weather its ball speed, going up the 1-2 arrow, etc.  this ball will work.

This kind of defines the whole experience many have with the Fury. IF you can find the the right surface (500-1000-2000-4000 grit abralon, polish or no polish, etc.) for the specific condition you're bowling on, it can be a good ball.

What frustrates me is that if you bowl on several conditions in many houses, you don't have the luxury of knowing how to prep it ahead of time. Most of my equipment that I consider truly "good" is effective across some range of a given condition. The Fury is too fickle (at least for me) to put into that category.

That is what made me give up on both of them that I drilled. I tried everything under the sun and could never find a happy medium.

Excellent assessment. My first though was that the modified "Lane#1 like" diamond would be more than enough motor for the cover, but in general, that doesn't seem to be the case for many bowlers.
