Just ordered A SideWinder :)
« on: September 26, 2007, 10:05:08 AM »
I went to my not even close to local shop today to have my Total NV X-out looked at and possibly drilled.  After discussing the options with my driller we decided it would be a good idea NOT to drill the TNV.

However, I needed something to help me match up better on my Monday night league.  My Black Widow was turning way too early, and my Awesome Finish, well that ball doesn't do anything for me.  I had the option of completely plugging and starting over, but passed on it as the Awesome Finish might be a decent piece on tougher tournament conditions.

I decided to order a Side Winder.  I have always wanted to try an Ambush, and this was the next best thing.  I love the colors, reminds me of a Big Time from Ebonite.  I get to pick it up on Monday before league, and will definately be throwing it in league.

My first Brunswick ball since the spare ball I call the Radical Inferno.  I'm actually pretty excited  Wish me luck!

Luck.

Actually, you probably won't need it.  I've seen a number of 'Winders in action, and it looks really good.

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Very nice ball to even out the "wet/dry", yet still carries a nice punch when it gets there.

You should really like this ball. I am finding a lot of utility in the Sidewinder. I have used it on the Cheetah thru the Shark. Granted on Cheetah I was throwing really hard and on Shark I was throwing really slow, there is still a lot of versatility in this piece.

I can't believe you are not getting a good look with your Awesome Finish. I have heard that it is basically a PK 18 cover over one of Mo's stronger cores. That should be a really good combo for a lot of medium conditions all the way thru slight oil.

The Radical was great once you hit the cover with 220 and then worked it back up. Too much shine out of the factory, but adjustable.

Good luck.

The MB is swung around to the side of the ball that has the traction 2.0 or whatever it said.  My driller said we could do it, but he had no idea what type of roll I'd get and he suggested not to.  He said if I was right handed it would have been fine, but being left handed it wasn't going to work too well.

I had a Domination that had to have a goofy drill and that ball wouldn't move if I threw it with no thumb, so I decided to save the $40 and not drill it.

However it is available
