Vapor Zone?

I'm a down and inner, the ball goes straight up the 2nd board (left from the right gutter) and hock it into the pocket. More info in profile

I play on everything from dry to heavy oil, so that really isn't the main concern, but I'm looking for a ball that won't under hock, and won't over hock.

I'm interested in the Vapor Zone, Fury, and Fury Pearl. I was wondering which ball you all think fits me the best.

From the belly, I'd suggest a Fury Pearl if it has the bone of the list. It is, from what I can tell, a smooth ball with very good traction for a pearl piece. The higher RG also pushes it well down the lane if things dry up, and if you should need more grip on oilier shots you have the option of sanding it.

The solid Fury is VERY strong - OOB it might be simply too much for youry style, unless you put no revs on the ball.

The VZ is a good ball, but IMHO its Activator+ cover is a bit itchy concerning wet/dry and changing lanes. Additionally, the asymmetrical core will define the breakpoint shape a lot more than the symmetrical Furies, which I consider more versatile.

I'm a "down and inner" too.  By hock I suppose that you mean hook?  The amount of hook that you get depends on your release and the amount of revs that you have.  It's not that difficult to even hook a plastic ball!

I think that your ball choice should be guided by the OOB surface of the ball in question and the lane conditions that you bowl on the most.

I have the Vapor Zone and I love it.  It has rapidly become my go to ball.  In OOB conditions it is for med-heavy to med-light oil conditions.

I think it is better to buy a ball that is meant to be for your most used condition than to buy the one that you've heard the most hype about and try to adapt it to your conditions with coverstock manipulation.

I believe that you'd like the Fury Pearl OR the Vapor Zone. Both balls are quite versatile and can be used with or without shine effectively.

I'm a proud hurler of the Vapor Zone. I find it very versatile if you need it to be, and it can also be used an entire night, with moves RIGHT which is something I love, being a stroker. All around great ball for me! But the Fury Pearl is good too. For what you're looking for the Fury might be too much ball.
