Vegas proshops
« on: August 17, 2006, 05:47:26 AM »
I will be traveling through Vegas next month and was wondering where the bowling hot spots are in Vegas.  I saw BrunsRicH in some of BrunsNick's videos that were shot in Vegas, was he just there for the event or does he work out of Vegas?  I would be interested in being able to talk with any Brunswick staff folks to discuss my current arsenal to see if I need to make changes.

Check out the pro shop inside Sunset Station. Quite possibly the most amazing shop I've seen.

mogators,

BrunsRich is out of the Northwest. We are just in Vegas working the Mini-Eliminator event. We try not to recommend any specific shops, but in Vegas you will find several quality pro shops. And like Nick said, you should at least get by Sunset Station to see that beautiful shop. I'm also happy to say that K & K is starting to give Brunswick some play. They too run a really good shop and we're glad to be in there.

Thanks for the responses.  Does Sunset Station or K & K have a website?  Do you have addresses or directions to these shops?

bowlinglasvegas.com go see Adam Ishman or Sakae at the green valley location tell them you are from ballreviews and Barry sent you to them. These guys know drillings and there fitting is top notch, Ken is also very good as JDT says so either shop is great. Green Valley which is in Henderson is faster at getting a ball out the door, they are the newer store and less busy but just as good. Btw they have a ton of radical inferno's in stock right now in Green Valley, have fun and i would not buy from the casino pro shops unless you like spending an extra 30-40 dollars.

Z71 check out sunset station like said above. It is a 26 million dollar center. For lessons go to Phil Platko from K n K or Bill Hall fromhttp://www.nextlevelbowling.com/ (he might not be in town or possibly the country on the dates you select but it worth a try).

As for drilling, Leftehh- LG's brother Joel Reynoso at Texas Station is good. The manager Mark Young used to drill on the tour truck and he's good. But like said before the pro shops in the casinos are actually owned and run by the casinos themselves, so they have one thing in mind "profit margins". So K n K is best when it comes to affordabilty. These three are all good drillers just differnt fitting methods, K n K ONLY uses the offset thumb method. If you go to K n K  on Flamingo and talk to Phil Platko he will take care of you.

Dan Nadeau now has a shop in Grand Junction, CO. The Sunset Station shop is owned by the Hotel/Casino and is run by Tom Underwood. Eric Forkel gives lessons out there also (not sure if that' the only place he teaches). REALLY nice place to at least go by and see. Tom's also very good.

You really do have numerous choices in the Las Vegas area. All the locals will have their preference, but you'll be like a kid in a candy store when shopping equipment out there, with all the choices.

South Coast has a nice layout and knowledgable drillers, but they are a little more money.

Sun Coast has a very nice Pro Shop, with a mess load of balls, from every company out there.

But K&K would be the best bet

Adam and Sakae were not taught how too drill by Ken Keegan, Ken himself brought these guys in too run his Green Valley shop because they were already good in the first place. Me and JDT have major conflicts with each other and he likes to stir up trouble, but you are giving misinformation about K & K Bowling Services here JDT. K & K for the record can drill ball any way you want clt, offset thumb,  standard t-grips and so forth, these guys at boths shops like i stated before are all very good drilling and fitting wise.

Also yes it does not matter that Adam is twice the bowler that you JDT or me for that fact but remember we both are right handed and have to actually move once in awhile You choose to follow me around on this board and cause trouble that is your goal in life i guess, you worship the ground that Ken Keegan walk's on and everybody knows this. I will be at the regional if you would like to discuss this in person and take it off the board my friend, does sunday morning sound good at match play???

Also for the record JDT says i am joke bowling wise locally and on BR so be it, i could care less what this guy thinks. I know you are going to attack because you always do that is your standard thing to take cheap shots. You were kicked off of BR with a different user name and should be kicked off this time, you insult me in pm's and think it is ok with me WRONG!!!!

I was in Las Vegas this past June, stayed at the South Coast.. Frank Nalepa drilled a ball for a friend and I.. He's great guy and good driller..

Texas Station seems like a good shop too..

As for good places to bowl.. I don't know.. I bowled in 2 different centers, South Coast and Texas Station.. And they were walled up like a racquetball court.. So if you want some confidence, go to those 2 places..

They are STUPID easy..!!!

On edit..:
Met Adam from K and K.. Seemed like a nice kid..

Just to specify STUPID easy...

At the time i was averaging around 200 back here home in Denmark..

For the combined 25-30 games i bowled at the 2 centers.. I averaged just over 240.. Bowling POORLY.. Cross my heart.. I sh.. you not!
And i lost beers repeatedly to my friend who averaged just under 250..

That's my definition of STUPID easy..

On edit..:
And I'm not a great bowler.. But we generally bowl on tougher conditions in Europe..
