I just recently joined the amateur/advisory staff of Brunswick/dv8. I have been bowling with the versa max for about 8 months now and I still have yet to find a pattern where this ball doesn't work. I use it during league on wood lanes in synthetic house tournaments and at nationals last year it was my primary ball. This is the best go to ball I have ever owned!!

Amen to the Versa-Max being so versatile. I too can use mine on most any condition. I have found it to be one of the, if not the most versatile balls I have ever had. Always the first ball out of my bag and I always have a difficult time to put it up and throw a different ball. When I first got it, I liked it most of the time but not always. After I re-sanded and re polished the ball, I love it big time and as already mentioned, I can't make myself put the ball down and throw something different. Anyone that doesn't own this ball is missing out. I hate it that I am going to have to put the ball up in another week while I have surgery and will be out of bowling for approx 2 months.

I have one that I have been looking at for quite a few months and haven't drilled as I am debating exactly what I want out of it!

Oh and I like the ?  an incredible amount!

I appreciate the comment about how easy the versamax takes cover changes. I don't usually do that to my bowling balls I just get another to match the conditions that I'm seeing. I was thinking about getting a meanstreak to go under my two versa max or, should I just change the cover of one of my versas too work on dryer conditions? If so, what should I change it to? How high should I go, to handle light to dry lane conditions?

Thanks for the response Chris. I'm a up the back of the ball type of bowler and my A game is playing outside. I have a Karma green pearl that I bought for the dry but I have to force it to continue to play outside. Eventually my carry suffers and moving inside is easy but I don't carry there either. I playing on an extreme wet dry so I want something to blend out the pattern and not burn up. Playing the dry/burn was my first option. I'm hoping that I can take the Meanstreak and kind of stay on top of or,  just inside of the track and carry. Suggestions welcome.

As you speak about how versatile this ball is, how do you have this ball layed out? Pin up down, weight hole?
