All things being equal, which one is longer please?

When I had my Gold Rhino drilled, I was told that the ball would be long so I elected to have pin-down. However Iâ€™ve found it to be shorter than expected (but fairly angular and very strong backend)

Iâ€™d like my Infeno to be longer so should it be drilled pin-up? Or drill it the same as my Gold Rhino???

Looking at the specs of each ball and if they were drilled the same, the Inferno would have a little more length. Since you like the reaction of the Vintage Gold Rhino Pro with the pin down drilling, I would suggest going with a Pin Up drilling to give you that added length. Then you would have 2 balls that would compliment each other.

Brandon is on staff and probably knows more than I do but from what I've seen the Vintage inferno gets into a roll way quicker than the Gold Rhino. Just from what I've seen the inferno will hook sooner than the gold Rhino without major surface changes to both balls

my vintage is pin up, rolls great on the fresh, I usually change from it during game 2, but game 3 I can use it again.

The Vintage is earlier than the Gold Rhino was for me. The cover and core on the Rhino are weaker. The pim up layout should give you a more defined move at the breakpoint.

My experience is what Chris has said. The Gold Rhino is longer and sharper, but the Vintage Inferno is a bit earlier and stronger overall. The Inferno is not getting all the buzz that it should. It is an excellent choice for what we bowl on 90% of the time.

I know this is a little off topic but from your assessment the Vintage DZ would fit in between the Rhino and Inferno in terms of length and hook?

That is correct, the Vintage DZ would be right in the middle. The Edge solid with a little smoother surface also rolls alot like the Vintage DZ. For me the Magnitude 035 also fits in between the two.
