Could I use a Punisher?
« on: January 12, 2005, 04:07:35 PM »
I've been looking at one since they were released.  I think I may overlap something if I do, here is my current line-up.

Super Carbide Bomb
Werewolf
Inferno
Crimson Executioner
PG
XXXL

If I bought the punisher that would be 3 pearl resins....too many I think...

My league shots are THS, medium on tuesdays and lighter on Thursdays.  I can use my Inferno in both houses, Tuesday requires alittle more squaring up and Thursdays more swing.

Nothing wrong with pearl resins!

Where are you looking to fit it? I'm not on the up n up with Visionary, it's all Greek to me.

Well thats the problem.....

I have a ZC to replace the OI, drilled to skid/flip.  The Visionary CE is a low rg, pearl resin, hates carrydown and oil from what i here(wouldn't drill till Friday).  I will set up the ZC skid/flip and the CE to push alittle further down the lane, probably place the pin about 5 1/2" from PAP.

The Punisher is a higher rg pearl resin that MAY fit above the PG.

You should be ashamed... REPLACING an IRREPLACEABLE ball like the Inferno!

I think with your ball speed, you'd like the Slay/R better. From my point of view, it'd be a better fit between the Groove and Zone.

The Slay/R checks and rolls but doesn't overhook. I think you'll fall in lub with it when you slow it down a bit on THS. Ball just knocks everything over in its path when the conditions are a touch dry.

Andrew,

the Punisher would directly replace the Crimson.

Can't get better info than that, can I?  So, if I buy another ball it will be a Slay/r, which probably won't happen for awhile.  I need a new bag anyway.

One of the pro shop guys in Portland used to be on the Visionary Sr staff. He informs me on there stuff. The covers on Visionary are a lot weaker as well as the core being more high RG as well as lower Diffs. So I would compare there stuff as being milder.
The SlayR would be a good fit play with the surface if necessary.
As far as the pearls, there not the same as they used to be. There getting more versatile. you can ALWAYS play with the surface.
Buy one or the other. Both can fit. The Punisher might be a little more versatile, but the SlayR has it's place.

Which center are you at in Vegas...Gold Coast or Orleans? The original should work both places. Even the SCB. The THS are pretty steaped generally in the middles, like 80-100 units! They like to keep'em happy. Gold Coast has Pro Anvil and is 2 years old. Orleans is Anvil and is 8 years old and the surface has been resurfaced once. The original would be the better choice there. If any of you guys are staying over, we will be around the end of that week for the Mini.

Thanks for the info!  We are seeing that much oil in the middle here too, but it is a wood house with guardian overlay.  It just doesn't dry up like it used too, it carries down know.

We are in the Gold Coast, I plan on taking 5 balls with me.  The SCB, Werewolf, Zone Classic, PG and XXXL....The Crimson MAY go too, but that will depend on the look I get from it on THS.

I've heard rumors that we won't be seeing their THS.  The rumor I heard was not THS, not a sport sport, something in between.
