Viz-a-ball overhooking
« on: December 05, 2006, 03:55:02 PM »
The lanes in my house this year are very dry.   The pattern is about 35 feet with a slight crown.  I've been throwing my Skull Viz-a-ball, usually standing about 30 throwing around third arrow, breaking somewhere between 5 and 7 board.

I need a new ball and layout.  I want something with more pop than plastic.  Carry and carry-down become an issue in later games with the Viz-a-ball.

Everything else in my arsenal hooks right off the lane and/or is uncontrollable at the break.

If you can get one, try a Lane#1 XXXL...it has a plastic coverstock, but an actual core that will give you that pop you are looking for.  If you can't get on of those, try something like a Brunswick Power Groove or Columbia Scout...they are entry level reactives that work very well on dry conditions.

Slate Blue Gargoyle or XXL if you can find one.  Not a lot of pearl urethanes out there anymore, but they exist, and those two have nice, strong cores.
