Void in Wild Ride TE
« on: August 15, 2009, 04:27:11 AM »
Hello everyone,

I was fortunate to get my hands on two used Wild Ride TE's.

I'm having problems plugging them and have a question about the core itself.

First off, if the ball has the teal rhino pro lightbulb core in it, then why is there still a mass bias pre-marked from the factory on the ball?

Secondly, I went to try and plug the balls, I started with the fingers, Before adding the plug, I noticed that a piece of the core was missing under where the pin is. I didn't think I had to worry, so I put in the plug, w/in 5 minutes most of the plug in the fingers began pouring out into the thumb hole.

I got another one that had the pin drilled out in the ring finger and the exact same thing happened, the plug drained out of the fingers and into the thumb.

What gives? These balls belonged to an up and coming professional on the national tour and the tour truck drilled them so how does something like this happen.

A. The reason why there is a mass bias marker is because the production Wild Ride is asymmetrical.
B. The void under the pin is from the nylon attachment is between the pin and the core when they are poured. It is common to see a void and not the nylon marker.
C. How deep are the holes? If you pour plug into the fingers and it seeps into the thumb, generally there is a core separation.

So Brunswick marked a MB on the Wild Ride TE because the the regular one is asym? Even though the TE core is sym?

Thats not confusing

I haven't found anything wrong with mine either. Actually I am still wondering what the blem is since I got it from classic and it supposedly had a "blem". I thought it was the MB marking but I guess its not if they all have it.

I've got 3 of them, no voids in mine that I'm aware of.  But two of the pins(you know they're red not blue)are concave and covered with what looks like superglue.
