I know this is an old ball ,but I like it.trying to find a new ball that rolls like it has proven to be hard. I have spoke to 3 area pro shops and the answers raise more questions than answer can any one tell me what the coverstock is and the core because I thought it is urethane and now one pro shop tells me it could be reactive since they made 2 versions of this ball and how can you tell the difference

Weren't the MVP's PowerKoil Reactives with a symmetrical weight blocks?

RG=2.55, DIff=.031, Max RG=2.581
Power Surge coverstock also used on the Combat Zone, Quantum Raven, and Attitude II.
BUT not used on the Johnny Petraglia LT-48 Gold, which was PowerKoil 18.
Definitely Reactive, NOT urethane.

Based on my experience with it, the Avalanche Urethane is as close to the WRW MVP as you can get currently. They don't make balls that weak anymore. The AU is not a joke ball. The WRW MVP was a very early rolling, very small backend ball for me. In fact, the AU, if anything is a better all around ball with more backend and more control than the WRW MVP.

IMHO, if you can find an Avalanche Pearl - the first, discontinued one, in blue and silver - this should be very close. Its cover was N'Control PowerBoost, a late generation coverstock from the Combat Zone's cover family, probaly 4th generation. Surely more itchy, but also intended for lighter conditions with good length and a rather snappy reaction to the dry. The Urethane Avalanche should basically handle similar conditions, but more smoothly.
