Warp Zone input..........
« on: March 22, 2006, 11:31:39 PM »
I needed some input on the Warp Zone here. It's drilled pin under ring, cg stacked or out slightly. What kind of reaction will this ball get? I know it's a heavy oiler, but I threw a guy on my teams WZ on a house shot, and it didn't move much?

Just looking for some input.

Since there is no PAP info, this can only be general... as a high tracker, this ball should roll early, wide and strong arcing move. As a low tracker/spinner (sounds a bit like this), this drilling should be stacked, more length.

Besides, the WZ is a medium load solid particle ball carbide particle ball. It is supposed to hook early on ANYTHING, and with its medium RG it is a very good choice for a low track player on heavy oil since it saves energy for the back end.

When the ball does not move at all, I'd suggest that it simple burns out and rolls into the pins with a weak hit. Polish might help, but not much, since the spike type particles really grab early and strong. House shot might not ne enough oil for it.

I don't know my PAP, I need to have my driller figure it for me. Polishing is what I thought about doing to it. I thought it may fit under my Strike Zone if I polish it. I have to put a new grip in one of the fingers, then I'll know more about how it reacts.

But I was surprised that this wasn't the big hook monster Big B makes it out to be, but I didn't want that anyway so that's great.

I have owned two WZs and found that there is nothing under the sun you can do to get this ball to go long and snap. It is just not designed to do that. It is a true oiler...I also find that it is VERY condition specific. It needs a lot of Oil. I agree with dizzyfgu's observation. I'm a high track bowler and my WZ is drilled pin just right of midline CG and MB kicked with a small weight hole. for me the ball gives me a midlane read and strong backend...it rolls heaaaavy. I use it in tournaments where there are flood conditions. I usually only get one or two games our of it and one of two things starts to happen as the lane transition. Either the ball stands up too early (burnt heads) or it begins to hit weak (not enough oil in heads and mids...burns up). Its a great addition to a tournament aresenal...it never sees the inside of the bag for league.

Well, I shined it up today and tried it on an after league shot. Shined it was alot better on the backend, but left alof of flat 10's. So even shined up it still needs some oil I think. Hoped it might fit in, but it still may.
