Gary i am looking for this ball to be for Heavy Oil. I'm
from the West Coast and the lane aren't really heavy except
for one house that has HPL Synthetics. But i want it for tournament use.
I'm going to Nationals in Reno and want something for the Team event.
Plus i really like Resin balls compared to Particle. Particle seems to
not really work on carrydown. So i was thinking of a label drill since
it's more simple and general. I feel if i drill this ball strong that it will
burn out for me since I am a tweener that can play straight up or open up the lane. I throw about 16 mph with a 45 degree axis tilt.

What do you think Gary? Do you own both balls?

well guys i have thrown both of these balls and i have to say that they are both to much ball. i own the raging and i hardly have the chance to throw it. i throw the ball at about 18 miles per hour and have a high rev rate. the ball is drilled almost straight up. a little to the left of pin. i also have the barbed wire which i had drilled straight up in line with pin and cg and that ball also hooks way to much.(about 28 to 34 boards on average). i dont necessarily like being a cranker. i would rather throw a much milder hook. any ideas???

my questions are placed in attempt to recieve constructive critism, but if that is beyond this gentlemens capabilities i am more than open to accepting a challenge, and by all means when i come INSIDE your house you will wish you had stayed in the parking lot.

I owned the raging and now own the ultimate and they are similar in reactions but the ultimate is more consitent is oil and the cover does not burn up like the particle raging.  The ultimate handles oil mush better, and opens up the lane great.  If you want to open the ABC shot up a little more with the ultimate i would drill it with the pin lower and the cg kicked out about 2 inches for better midlane roll.  Very versatile also.  I can use it on a variety of shots where there is a ton of head oil.  I might drill another one and polish is a lot for more lenght and backend, but the new ravage is really catching my eye.  Just to let you know about the ABC shot, I practice on it a lot in my home house that has older wood, and the ultmate hooks a little too much in the area where other stuff works great.  But on the synthetics in Reno, it should work pretty good.

Wells i am calm, my remark was satirical more than anything, two in the morning and a cup of coffee short of comprhension i guess, for the challenge i appologize, but if i ever head east of cali and land in georgia i would be happy to bowl with you in a friendly match or just conversational practice.
