What can you tell me about the Combat Zone?

I picked up a single drill Combat Zone and Combat Zone Pearl yesterday -- $20 for both of them!
I can't find much info on the balls expect they have the original Dange Zone core and the PowrSurge cover, which was also used on the Gold Rhino Pro and the Raven Quantum (both great balls themselves).
Can anybody tell me more about these balls and what to expect? I have a lot of PK18 stuff (a Brunswick Wizard and some old Lane #1 balls which were poured by Brunswick) and love these balls.
Thanks
p.s. I also got a Teal Rhino Pro for $10. Can't wait to get the thumb fixed and use that one!

Cant remember much on the core and cover but the CZ solid was a very strong bowling ball.

Both of these balls came out in late 1996. They basically replaced the Danger Zone and Danger Zone Black Ice in the Brunswick lineup. Both used versions of Brunswick''s PowrSurge reactive coverstock and they both used the familiar Danger Zone core. If you''ve seen PBA telecasts from 1997 you''ve seen many Brunswick staffers use these balls. I think both of these balls will be a little cleaner thru the heads.

Interesting to see what that ball would do on todays THS. Might work who knows.

Thanks for the info. I'll try and post a review when I get around to fixing them. I'll start with the Teal Rhino Pro and then the CZ solid.
I know from watching others throw them that the Rhino still works on THS. The ball hits hard.

Local pro shop had a NIB 14# CZ Pearl that I put holes more than a year ago. Pin up, 4.5" pin to PAP layout had stand left throw right written all over it... It wasn't what I expected out of a ball that old.
I sold it because I didn't need a ball that put me that far outside of my comfort zone.
If I had to compare the pearl to a more recent release, I'd favorably put it up against a Storm Agent.

The cores are notorious for separation. Clunk them together to be sure.
