I just drilled my Ambush and I'm liking what it adds to my arsenal. It is about 3 or 4 boards weaker than my OI, as far as where my feet are. When the ball hits the same breakpoint it's much smoother than the OI, but continuous through the pins. I was able to hit the dryer area sooner on the lane and not have it overhook, yet it still rolled up when I missed a little inside in the oil. One other thing I noticed is that I was able to move around numerous boards on the approach and change my ball speed and still line up easily. Next I want to try this ball on a little more oil with a little scotchbrite to the surface.

I have to agree with the Goliath being an overall disappointment. For a ball that is supposedly high load particle coverstock, it sure can squirt on the backend. I will suggest the Nemesis over the Goliath anyday. As far as the Ambush is concerned, it will be interesting to see how it stacks up against the Big Times. The Big Time is one of the best mid priced balls if not the best. It hooks a ton when dull but easily becomes more skid/snap when polished. I am extremely impressed with the Nemesis and Rampage so far. Looking forward to the Ambush.

I know that it is hard to believe, because your eyes are saying "but the ball is just sliding the whole way," but the goliath is almost definately burning up. Modern particle equipment (especially dull/high load pieces) is so funny, in that you can sit there an swear that the damn ball doesn't hook, yet when you get the ball on a flood, it outperforms EVERYTHING.

However, I agree, the nemesis will be a much better choice for a much wider range of bowlers.

When I heard that they were releasing a new BVP ball, I was really hoping for something between the Goliath and the Nemesis as that would be a great fit for me. If the Ambush is weaker than the Nemesis, what Big B equipment would fall into that range?
