What Constitutes a Full Roller?
« on: August 24, 2006, 04:21:05 PM »
I was just watching the Wizard Video from Nick and he said that the girl is a full roller, what exactly does that mean?

There is a guy in the GDBA that is the best bowler in the area, who everyone says is a full roller, but I don't see what makes him, or her so.

Watching the video, she looks like she throws the ball somewhat like I do, with a little less hand.

Can anyone explain this to me?

I really don't see how it would even be possible to track between the fingers and thumb....unless you were throwing the ball end over end.....hmmmm lol.

Simply tracking over the thumb and fingers isn't what makes you a full roller.  Tracking like that is just taking the concept of "high track" to the extreme.

Full rollers don't just track over the thumb and fingers, they track between them.  Like, draw a line from 10:30 to 4:30 through the grip center.  That's where a full rolling track starts.  And I believe it flares backwards (which is why the pin is usually put at 7:30 instead of 1:30 like you'd expect).

How is this possible? You would have terrible balance and tip over to the right.
