The post says something about the purpose of the Intense Inferno. It is my understanding that the reason for the Intense, was that when they released the first 3 (original, blazing, and raging), that they wanted a particle, a skid/flip, and one for control. The problem with the Blazing, was that it had a tendency to really skid a long way for alot of people on the slightest hint of carrydown. I believe the ball was discontinued after only 3 months on the market. That was when they came out with the Intense. The Intense can give you that "skid/flip" look, but mostly can be drilled to read the midlane and still save some energy for a booming backend. I have one drilled pin 4 1/2 from PAP, 1 1/2 inches above midline with cg swung out 2 inches from center of grip and weighthole in the thumb positive quadrant. With my rev rate (540), I can open up the lane without worry of the ball not wanting to recover. There is no "squirt" on the backend. They only thing I have done with this ball in ways of cleaning and polishing, is using Clean and Dull and polishing with Magic Shine. This ball is nothing short of amazing. What I said in reference to the purpose of the ball, was more what was told to me at the time the Intense was released. If I am not correct in saying this, please inform me with the right information. But my interpretation was that it was a replacement for the Blazing at the time because the Blazing was way too squirty on carrydown for a high end ball.
