what to do?
« on: October 07, 2007, 01:52:15 AM »
My wife needs a new ball,  what she had already SZ,TI,VZ and plastic.  I'm thinking she needs a pearl so I was thinking either fury pearl or the sidewinder.  Watching a guy throw the sidewinder yesterday it's pretty impressive I don't think it wil get her in alot of trouble but I also think the FP would be cleaner yet thru the front part of the lane.  She bowls in a state tourney this coming weekend just wondering what the peanut gallery has to offer.  Her stats 14-15 mph, stroker style ,pap 5 x 1/2 up.

thanks to all that reply

The Fury Pearl is a nice compliment to what she has. The Sidewinder is also good, but may roll like her Total Inferno, whereas the Pearl Fury should give her more angle to the pocket than anything else she has, and with little effort.
On a tough condition, the Sidewinder will be more predictable, but if it's anything like we see almost everywhere, I'd go for the Fury Pearl.

The Total Inferno and Vapor Zone are pearls just so you know.  The three you have listed are all pretty strong balls.  If I were to get something else, it would be something weaker like a Rampage.  A Sidewinder could also be nice since it should have a smooth motion because of the solid/pearl/particle blended cover stock.

I know they have some pearl in them but they are not a so called true pearl.  I haven't really looked at the rampage because it old... lame excuse I know.  I did drill up the SZ this last may how old is that ball?  See how this sucks with so many options.  Thanks for replying and the debate rolls on.

The Gription additive in the Total Inferno makes it roll like a light load pearl particle ball. The only reason Brunswick didn't label it a "particle pearl" is because the additive is different from their normal "particle" additive. That's why I think it and the Sidewinder roll pretty closely.

Having thrown both my Vapor and my Pearl Fury in the past two weeks (I LOVE them both), for me, the Pearl Fury is a little longer and slightly more angular than the Vapor. Both are factory finish.

I agree with you about the totall and sidewinder less overall hook most likely.  I'm sold on on the fury pearl thanks

After wathcing her bowl yesterday and really looking at what kind of ball reaction she likes.  I think the sidewinder may the right ball reaction because it will roll similiar like the totall.  By the way I do realize that the totall and vapor have pearl in them.  Going back to the sidewinder though it should be a better fit because it may roll like the totall I'll just drill it mild compared to her totall.
