Layout on the rampage
« on: August 31, 2005, 02:43:02 AM »
Got my rampage yesterday and it is sitting in the shop. 3" pin 3.4 top. any suggestions on the layout? This is the only B ball I dont know much about and I and curious to the reaction. I thoguht about 4x4, but I dont want the ball to burn off by the time it hits the hole or make a left turn.

thanks!

What kind of reaction are you looking to achieve from the Rampage, and where do you want to fit it in your existing arsenal?

Rick,

with the powerkoil 18 cover, do you not loose the reaction when moving left? Looking for decent length, but not skid flip. But still not overpowering. kind of a strong arc reaction for medium to light oil.

I'm not Rick, but I'll take a stab at this anyway...

My Rampage is drilled 2E, and I don't lose anything when moving left;  in fact, the reaction gets *better* as I move deeper.  The cover is so clean in front that I don't worry about loss of recovery from deep inside.

That sounds exactly like the hole I was trying to fill with my Rampage.  It was recommended to me that I keep the pin below the fingers, as going with a pin-above layout might make the ball miss the break or react too sharply in back.  So far, the Rampage is a perfect fit for this reaction.
