Ok, 2007 has been a pretty dismal year for the Big B on the production side. Avalanches are delayed until January 08. Production on Powergrooves don't start for another 2 weeks or so, which means shops probaly won't get them for another 5-6 weeks. T-Zones are backordered until December I hear in all except for 2 colors, and Viz-A-Balls are very backed up(everyone wants the spirals, but we are having to search far and wide just to find a pair, and after this week there may be none.

What does Brunswick plan on doing in 2008 to cut down on these huge delays. Ever since the Spring I've seen and have had Brunswick faithfuls losing faith in their products and "jumping shift" left and right, and some are much happier since doing so. What is in the works to keep the Brunswick faithfuls happy and how do you guys plan on following up on a very bad year production wise? We've been selling the products very well for years, but lately there's hardly been anything to sell. And when a ball is availible, shops are getting to the point where they are too jaded to want to stock/sell/push the product, and people are losing interest in even throwing the product.

As stated earlier other companies are having the same problem. Why jump down Brunswick's throat about it? Yes they moved production to Mexico but that does not mean that they will always be ahead of the game and have no problems at all. Give them some time and all will be better I am sure.

Where does it seem like I'm "jumping down their throats"? I presented a question in an eloquent and adult manner and I do realize that other companies have had problems. That's not what I'm asking about because these other companies are readily availble. I'm mainly asking because I have always supported the Brunswick product and hope to do so in the future when they get the ball rolling. I am just asking the questions that no one has been able to answer at the other outlets that I've gone through.

The largest percenatge of all sales are still in plastic/polyester, as far as I know. When there's no plastic balls, pro shops are hurting. High average bowlers will wait for their favorites balls. Kids, children and women will not; they want what they want NOW. You ain't got it; they're going elsewhere with their money.

Very true charlest. The sad part is a beautiful center opened about 20 miles from here and it is dedicated to recreational bowling. Birthday parties and cosmic. No leagues. They throw plastic and there is no proshop. Pay by the hour or an inflated price per game. The shot sucks. Boring.

I don't see this post as a bash at all.
DP3 stated his business has relied on Brunswick to provide his customers with a quality product from entry level to high performance.
In the near past to the present he has not seen a solid commitment from a company he has come to rely on.He does not wish to rebuild that relationship with a competitor if he does not have to.He has requested a response from the Brunswick people he knows read and respond in this forum.
The selling season is upon him and he's looking to be assured Brunswick will be there for him.
A fair question in my book.

Seems a little oversensitive - as others have pointed out about the Big B crew - as long as people are singing the praises of the company it is all good. The minute somebody questions the company, quality control, or some other aspect, they are flooded with "you shouldn't bring it to the forum, just call your rep and let them take care of it." Funny, every other forum is filled with questions about the business, quality, performance, etc. Why is this place any different?

As DP3 pointed out, the Avalanche series is postponed. It's listed on their website (http://www.brunswickbowling.com/avalanche) but it's not available. As I pointed out, it isn't even on the approved list (as of late Sept).

Whether you feel he should call his rep is your own opinion. This is an open forum and there is nothing wrong with DP3 coming here to ask a question of his peers.

I will agree that DP3 is just asking a question. I am just sick of so many people complaining about Brunswick behind on releasing stuff since they moved to Mexico. I am sure they have good reasons for all of this. Let me throw a question out there for you all. What would you if another ball company followed Brunswick and went to Mexico as well? How many of you guys would be in an uproar about that?

Would you like a full transcript of my conversation with my regional rep?

Don't make me out to be the bad guy here when I asked a valid question. Brunswick knows that they are losing some of their market share and their presence in the pro shops(with representatives and phone calls) and their presence in public forums such as this has been more quiet than ever. Their production problems from a sellers standpoint is pretty unacceptable right now. There's no way I should be resurfacing and refinishing new in box balls before I can even draw lines on them to give them to the customer because there are sanding lines or slight ripples in the cover OOB. And after delay after delay, it's getting harder and harder to trust that the next deadline they are giving us will be fufilled.

Big Mike, you seem to be so authoritative on their behalf, who are you? Maybe you have some answers? ...or at least a business strategy backed by some numbers that you can produce.

As many shops as I do hear complaining about the problems, and for me to be the only one to speak up in a public forum and ask what is going on, really might just show how many people have just quietly left the "B" behind and have moved on to pushing, selling, and throwing other companies.

You have to get your market share back Brunswick, too many people are used to the top notch quality and overall impeccable performance of your line from top to bottom.

I wouldn't be in an uproar at all as long as the equipment was actually coming out of the plant and the releases that were coming out of the plant didn't have so many surface issues. The balls could come from Mars for all I care as long as they get here, and without flaw.

I am just another guy in the business thats all. I am just amazed at the lack of professionalism by many in this craft. If you are having problems with the quality and have gotten no where with your sales rep, then by all means stop stocking the product and move on. Be a man about it and stop complaining on message boards.

Please tell me your not one of those shop guys who ridicules the competitors work. Because the way you are publically bashing Brunswick gives the impression otherwise.

And I do sign my name because I have no problem putting it out there. If you don't like what I am writing, then you can disagree. I am just getting tired of all the damn whining. Drop it and move on to another topic.

Well I guess as the Brunswick nation would like to have it, no one is allowed to ask, question, or interject any opinion about the brand if it's not done in the most kiss up way possible to the Big B.

I've put my question out there.....if there is some type of answer, that I(and others who share the same views), that will be given in regard to the production plans for 2008 then I'm sure Brunswick can address it in a public forum, through email, or what have you.

I am not a hard person to find. And that also goes for any other person who has a problem with anything I've said. All information is in the profile. Have a great day everyone.
