You've never seen one of these before? This is what the early modern game was all about - a thumbhole, one fingerhole in a round chunk of wood. I remember when I first started the game we had an alley in town that still had pinboys, not machines. There were a couple of these balls still on the racks.

I thought it was funny where it said the ball
was ready to bowl with. You can't be serious
about using a ball like this on today's lanes
and machines. It probably would come back in
chuncks. It would be cool to keep in your house
tho.

up until a few years ago a man showed up at the abc tournament with his wooden bowling ball and competed with it. there are no rules against using a wooden ball but you have to wonder what it do to the lanes and what would the machinery do to the ball.
