Whats a good layout for..
« on: August 09, 2008, 12:11:39 PM »
A smokin inferno I want to use on shorter patterns I like dual angles layouts which angles should I use. Also for a raging inferno I wasn't to use to help control the lanes when they get spotty or inconsistent.

These are both excellent balls! My Smokin is drilled with the pin below and to the right of the ring finger and it works well on medium to med/heavy conditions. My Raging is drilled pin next to fingers and works well on medium oil, on heavy oil it just slides all the way down the lane.

I REALLY like my Twisted Fury for the shorter stuff as of late. The layout is 70* by 5 by 50* with a P4 hole. Pin was drilled out in ring finger. I keep the ball at 2000 grit abralon. Now for you with your more dominant ball speed, you can use a little more aggressive drilling angles, like 60*. But if you really want to control the back part of the lane more, I'd use a 60* back angle. With the Raging Inferno being particle, the cover should help do that. But if you need a lay-out suggestion I would use a higher drilling angle and back angle, with a 1-2inch pin to pap to help get the ball to read early and control the back part of the lane. So my suggestions are:

Smokin Inferno: 60 by 5 by 60 (or 50 if you want a little more angularity)

Raging Inferno: 70 by 2 by 50

Hope this makes sense and helps. Let me know if I am in the wrong directon on this one.
