rg/diff on Total?
« on: December 11, 2006, 07:47:34 PM »
Some sites have the Rg at 2.45 but I saw on Bowlingball.com it is listed as 2.30 what is it? I am also curious what the specs are on a 14lb Total as I have elbow issues. Thanks all for any info on the ball.

The 2.3 is 2.3 out of 10, it's a seperate rating that Big B uses for ball ratings.

That's still not right. Since 2.43 is as low as you can go, the Total's 2.45 should be like 1.2 out of 10.

There's no guarantee it's a linear scale anyway.

The 2.3 is a relative rating of the *average* RG, not the *minimum* RG.

why do they have to complicate the matter so much?

The relative scale has outworn its usefulness long ago. If anyone looks at the RGs, they look at and recognize the min and max of a particular core. No one looks at the relative scale. This is a perfect example. With specifying what type of number they are quoting, it conuses the issue; it does NOT clarify it.

Brunswick hasn't updated the chart that has the rg's for all the weights so it's hard to tell how different the 14lb total will be, but expect it to be cleaner with a practically unnoticeable difference in flare potential.

The drill sheet that I posted a link to has the rg's and diff's for all weights...
