I bought a pretty much new Speed Demon Zone a while back as that used to be one of my favorite balls back in the day (scored my first 279 at 17 with it), but now it's obviously a pretty light oil ball. I bowl Thursday nights at the local place because it's a dollar per game, and depending on when I get there and who I follow I might find heavy oil to reverse block, always a challenge. In this case I was finding a burnt up track with carry down so I wasn't having much luck except playing deep around the 4th arrow with little swing. That's when I came up with the idea of piping the SDZ up the outside, and it worked pretty well actually, but when I got the ball back I could not believe the flare...I had flare rings over the ENTIRE BALL. Flare unlike I had ever seen on any ball I'd ever owned...on my Awesome Revs I might see 7 or 8 but nothing like this.
What I'm wanting to know is if there's a logical explanation for this, because I didn't all of a sudden turn into Belmonte or Robert Smith when I throw this ball...it does seem to be a low RG core with a mild coverstock, so maybe in its shined state it just never rolls out and keeps rotating the whole way down the lane, I don't know. I'm very tempted to take the shine off this ball and see what it could do...
