Which ball?
« on: October 27, 2004, 09:16:21 AM »
I have a problem; I can't decide which ball to keep.  I bought a Shock Zone Pro last year, which is drilled 4 3/8 by 3 3/8.  I picked up a RG Pure Fuel this summer.

The problem is they overlap.  I could keep one dull and one shiny but I don't know if I want too.  I know how well my Big B coverstocks hold up but I am concerned about the RG.  It is made by Storm if I am not mistaken.

The RG has the most backend of any ball I've thrown in awhile but the Shock has almost paid for itself in winnings.

I would like to try a Punisher or Intense but I have too many balls right now.

Can anyone help me out with this?

I have never had the Pure Fuel but a few of my friends did and they said that the cover goes away a little to fast and the ball tends to jump were other ball's wouldn't and you really have to keep up with the maintenance to keep it working, they all dumped the Pure Fuel in favor of the Top Fuel!

That is what I was thinking.  The Pure Fuel seems to be good but not great.

Andrew,

If this is your greatest problem, I envy you and we should all be so lucky.

Sell both of them and buy a few dozen practice sessions.

But, if they are both used, keep them as re-drilled balls don't have great resale vale. At the oddest times, those basement stored balls come in awfully handy.

How dare you jump on me like that.  What did I do to you????  You are such an richard cranium.

Seriously, I wish I could buy some lessons.  There isn't anyone that could coach me for at least 6 to 8 hours driving time from here.

As for the balls, you are right; used balls are worth much unless someone really wants it.

Andrew,

Since they are really not worth much after re-drilling, I was more serious about saving one in the basement, since you seem to like them both enough to ask for advice.

(Oh, I meant pure practice, on your own; not coached ones. They can do an awful lot of good.)
