Black Quantum ratings on BTM
« on: December 31, 2017, 04:41:39 PM »
BTM gave this ball horrible ratings, one of the worst I’ve seen. Did Brunswick swing and miss with this one? I love my green and fire pearl Quantums and was thinking about getting the black one but I’m a little apprehensive now. For those that have the Black Quantum, how do you like it?

The Black has been the most liked of the 3 from everything I've seen. It essentially fit right in between the fire and forest.

Forest is strongest and earliest, Fire is weakest and long, Black in the middle

While it isn’t what I expected it to be, it isn’t a bad ball. From what I had heard and seen, I expected it to be long and strong off the spot.

What it actually ended up being for me was clean and smooth. I was actually able to play further into the dry than I thought I would. And the breakpoint was rounded for me, not really so sharp. Gives me a definite move, just not a flippy one.

Carry is good, but not unusually so.

For me, a good benchmark type of reaction.

Way too overpriced for the performance; I seen in action, and it barely has the performance of a benchmark piece ( my Hustle Ink gives me much more mid lane and backen).

Would you say the Classic Black is a slightly stronger version of a Vintage DZ? I've been looking for a slightly stronger ball when my Vintage DZ doesn't quite pick up early enough on the new fresh THS my center puts down.

Thanks!

You need to realize that the Quantums do not rev up as easily as the lower RG balls.  I play straighter lines  through the fronts and the ball is one of my best.  If I'm trying to open up angles more with my modest rev rate I'm usually better with other choices.

I also typically see plenty of oil, so mine with less shine has been better than the polished version from the factory.

Black is my favorite of the three.  Longer and stronger than the fire.....closest reaction to a hyroad brunswick has.

Haven’t thrown the new version of the DZ.

THIS!!! is exactly what I have seen as well. I actually think it is more versatile than the other two!
