most of my equipment is drilled the same. my inferno, zone classic, and monster slay/r are layed out with the pin even with the bottom of the ring finger and the cg is swung just enough towards the center of grip to avoid a balance hole. my heavy oil balls( raging inferno, ultimate inferno )are basically layed out with the pin next to the ring finger, the cg is stacked, and there is a balance hole below the mid line. these balls all have different surface preparations but similar types of roll-----however, the breakpoints on the lane are very different. which is what i'm looking for. in july i'll be buying three new balls and they will all be layed out very similar. this method has worked very well for me. when i have asked rick benoit and tom tomaras of brunswick about this they both feel this is a very important consideration.
