Wicked Seige...needing suggestions

hey everybody, i would like to receive some suggestions on the Wicked Seige..
 
I only have about 3 games on mine..but I can't seem to find a happy medium to the current state that the ball is in. I have it drilled pin above the bridge, cg kicked out, and both the pin and cg are inline with the mass bias...however, there isn't a reaction that i like with it..I have it meant to go long, but it doesn't pick up 90 percent of the time..
 
ball is currently at 1000 abralon, after using it OOB
 
should i add a weight hole, and where...or does anybody have a layout like this, and if you get it to move, what surface do you have it at..
 
i bowl on HPL's, on your THS with just a bit more outside..
 
I only bowl with the Big B currently..and just want this amazing ball to be amazing..just need a little coaching on it.

It depends on how tight the flares are...if there is very little separation between the flares, a weight will help. If there is already a decent amount of separation (3/8") between the flares, a weight hole will not help.

If the flares have little separation, add a weight hole 3 3/8" down the VAL to open up the flare rings.

i haven't noticed any separation in the flare rings, is that to say that there is no track flare at all? I'm not fully integrated into all of the technical jargon..i'm getting there though..haha

If the ball is not flaring then the ball is rotating on top of the oil which is going to create excessive length.

Pehaps not enough oil?

 

If you are getting a decent reaction from your other ball that have a weaker cover, that might be your answer.

 

Hook monster need to have oil. Otherwise, they'll burn up quickly and you're not going to get the reaction you want.

Surface is the key. You may need a trial-and-error period to find out which surface works best. HPL's usually have the most friction of any synthetic lane system though they have less friction than wood lanes or wood lanes with an overlay like Laneshield. Is your ball speed higher than average ? That would indicate you may need more surface.

Are you speed dominant or have a lot of axis rotation (low PAP)?  The cover on the Wicked Siege is super clean through the front part of the lane.  Even at 1000 abralon, I've seen those type of people throw it through the break point.  If not, maybe it's too much surface and burning up.  2000 or 4000 without polish might work better in that case.

the more i realize it..im thinking that it is just the house..even my teammate can't get a Jigsaw Trap to pick up..pin up as well. it may just be the characteristic of the house.
 
i've thrown it on wood THS, and also i threw it on the USBC Blue pattern at the Detroit Masters last weekend..which was also at a wood house..so i'm starting to think its the house...Bowl One in Troy, with the HPL's..
 
my ball speed is about 16-16.5 range..i'm not sure about how much tilt--i don't get too much downlane reaction, if that says anything.
 
i have a house that i can throw anything at, and its usually a good dictator of whether or not im getting desired reaction on my equipment.

i had a pin under anaconda that was at a 1000 i couldn't get to do anything.  i plugged the thumb, cut it down, and threw it on the machine.  well i was being super lazy that night so i left it at the diamond rings.  Then i threw polish on.  now that ball is great, it gets threw the heads clean and has a ton of back end.  i drilled up a wicked last week i love the reaction i get with mine just needs a slug in it (don't like the thumb).  Once i get that fixed i will let you know on it.  Give taking it down to like 320 on all four side and then throw some polish on it see what that does.

its funny you mention that about the Anaconda..because mine is pin under, and i now have it at 1000, and its my go-to ball. OOB got down lane a bit too much for me..being pin under and all...and when i took it to 1000, i love the reaction...
 
i'll try the really low surface on the Wicked and then polish...thanks!

thanks for the all of the help, everybody. it turns out..that its mostly the house that i am currently bowling at, i can't seem to have anything that is pin up and pearlized do much of anything..however...
 
i took the surface down the 320 on all 4 sides, and added some polish, and then bowled at a different house..
 
Brunswick Pro Anvilane, USBC Open Championship pattern--played about 30 to in between the range finders..OH MY GOD, it is the most "back-endy" ball i have ever owned, so i am very grateful that i laid the ball out the way that i did..and i am safe to say that it is my favorite ball in my whole lineup, and perhaps with the surface change, i will use it in league tonight, and see if it does anything different at my current house, which used HPL's..we shall see.
