Title: Wild Card - What do you think?
Post by: strikestriketapped on February 25, 2010, 11:14:50 AM
The Wild Card doesn't seem to be talked about much. For anyone that has it, how do you like it?

I like mine alot. My main one is drilled 75x6x25. It clears the fronts like a pearl and has a nice smooth roll off the spot. Great for opening up the lanes with when there is some hook.

The problem with the Wild Card is that...it just strikes.  Nothing fancy...day in and day out, it just knocks pins down.

The 3.5 is getting all the attention now because of how much it hooks and the way it hooks.

Both of the ones I had gotten into the shop went out within a week. This ball is incredibly solid and performs well beyond it's pricepoint.

Just like RSalas says....it strikes, not flashy, no screaming messengers or anything but it's a VERY good ball...just overshadowed by the hype surrounding the C System balls.

Honor scores galore for me with this ball. One of the most underrated balls on the market if you ask me.  I've drilled quite a few and everyone has been very happy with the results.

How does it compare to the Wild Thing, also the Evil Siege? I just drilled  a wild thing with a modified Rico and it is great. Lots of length with solid backends and I''m debating between the Wild Card and the Evil Siege.

Both seem very similar.(wild card, evil siege) I guess if you drill a lot of Brunswick throw the Diamondback into the equation. I compare the numbers for the Diamondback, Evile Siege and Wild Card and they all seem very close.

Kid,
For me, I think the WC and the ES are an excellent 1-2 punch.  In comparison to the WT, it is a similar motion, just earlier.  The WC is very clean, for a solid, through the heads.  If I am able to get lined up with the WC in a zone that is carrying well.  When it starts to check up, I can pull out the ES and stay in the same zone on the lane.  In comparison, the WC is box w/polish and is drilled 63 x 5 3/4 x 36 with no hole, and the ES is oob and drilled 52 x 6 x 35 with no hole.  Both balls are more than capable of retaining oil and moving in, but when I am in a tournament and like the zone that I am playing in, I will stay there as long as I can.  In all actuality, you can't go wrong with either one of these choices.  I have 2 of each on order to try with different drillings.  This is what I have seen thus far.
Thanks,
Dennis Rhodes

The Evil and Wild are totally different.  The wild card is a solid symmetrical that clears the heads but has a smooth hard roll in the midlane.  The evil seige is a pearl asymetrical that clears even more and has a quick response to the dry. The diamondback is a slower response ball with less core and less cover.
