Since they don't have something up for it yet . .
The shop had one when I went, so I decided to take it! 15-3, 3.75 top, 3 1/2 inch pin. Ended up being 3 3/4ths by 4 1/2, with exactly 1 ounce sideweight and 0 thumb/finger weight. Might use a weighthole, not sure yet though, gonna play with it a little.
First of all, cosmetically, this ball is the best looking ball I've ever seen, honestly. Think a shiny X-Factor Reloaded with metallic yellow added, it's just gorgeous.
First couple tosses reminds me of a Smokin. Clears the heads effortlessly, and gets through the mids rather well too. Here's where the difference lies. Naturally, it has the trademark hard arc of an Inferno line ball, when it picks up, it keeps rolling through the pocket, no skid/stop or hook/set type reaction. It's supposed to go longer than the Smokin, and on occasion, it does. The hook potential is slightly more than a Smokin (I have a box Smokin drilled very similarly, btw), but it acts differently at the breakpoint. It's more sensitive, and although it only did it to me once, I can see it being squirty. It's definitely more skid flippy . . but it doesn't flip. When it sees dry, it starts moving, but not violently. On a fresh medium oil pattern with decent strength backends, I can see you being in the pocket all day. It'll give you a good read on track burn, and doesn't jump quite as hard as the Smokin does, however, it seems to like to move earlier. Doesn't have the traction in oil that the Smokin does, but it reads very smoothly and strongly off dry. I had several shots I threw where I wasn't sure it'd make it back in time, but it did. It'd start moving and then continue to lazily make its way through the pocket. Everything kind of arcs at this house though, so at my Laneshield house, I expect this ball to really come alive. Definitely won't overreact. It's not hook in a box, but if you can get a ball into a good roll, this one will be magic. With a few adjustments, you could score from anywhere on the lane. The only problem would be that I can't see it handling carrydown well at all. But all in all, it looks great, rolls great, and although I can't see myself having many honor scores with it, I CAN see myself averaging very well.
