Sapphire zone, whats this ball like?

I have a leed on one and I hear its a good older ball. Where dos it fit in in Big B's current lineup and what are its claim to fame?

I had a couple when they first came out back in the mid 90's. Drilled one up leverage and the other with the pin over the fingers, straight over the label.

The cover was PK 17 and it was one of the last PK17 Zones before the original Danger Zone came out. At that time, I dulled the leverage one and kept the other highly polished for a nice one-two punch. Back then, the Sapphire was one of the stronger balls on the market and highly popular.

From what I understand, the Big B will mass produce some of there classic balls like the Sapphire if a large enough order is placed.

If you drill one, I would be interested to hear how it fits in todays equipment spectrum.

i have one 16 lbs. undrilled, im curious to hear as well.

Planning on typical Label drill, playing on a fresh house shot, OOB finish.

dunno when it will get drilled though, i have too many undrilled balls right now.

I know where a NIB one is at and I might be getting a single drill off a buddy of mine. I am trying to figure out how they fit in myself.

Had great luck with both the solid and pearl versions. Pretty even rolling. Not really sure how it would match up against todays balls and oils.

My Sapphire is drilled 3 x 3 with the pin low.  It is a meduim oil ball at best with todays oils.  But, don't think that means it is weak.  Provided there are some dry boards at the back or right, nobody should have a problem finding a line with it.

Strong, easy revs and angular for a solid. That pretty much sums up the reaction.

I had one that I got from a PRO-AM. Loved that ball and my average went up 40 pins. Got away from Zone for a few years, but now back with them, STRIKE ZONE, and I am not going away again. Or at least away from BRUNSWICK.
