I am trying to beef up my arsenal for the upcoming USBC outing i have scheduled in March. I always have trouble getting the midlane reaction desired. The big B always has been good for stronger midlane than Powerhouse products (even though i've had great success with them.) I was thinking of punching up a Maxx zone and Twisted Fury Solid. How do these balls handle oil? I am very familiar with dual angle layouts, can i get a suggestion for layouts too? I was almost thinking RicO on the maxx?

From what I've seen. I'd try to go more for a Maxxx and a Copperhead. The TF Solid isn't really for the heavy stuff, opposed to what many thought. With a very early and rolly layout in OOB, mine would have a little trouble and would skid further than I would have liked for it too on the Viper. However, my TFS owns a heavier house shot...

So here are my suggestions...

Maxxx Zone
4" pin-to-PAP distance
Place the pin above or below depending on where the pin is on your Pin Slasher (if it's up on the PS, put it low on the Maxxx, and vise-versa)
No Hole (it will be strong enough...trust me...)

This will allow a 1-2-3 combo for oil for when one or the other has a problem turning the corner

Twisted solid not for the heavy stuff. Maxx zone and blast zone at 2000 great combo

While the Twisty Solid doesn't really handle higher volumes quite the way the Maxxx Zone does, it is still worthy of consideration because of the way it blends the lane from front to back on the fresh. I've used the Twisty Solid on tighter conditions where it's been difficult to control the break in back with other equipment, and not only did it let me keep the ball in play, but it gave me a look that let me get more aggressive with the shot.

Unless something better comes out between now and July, I'll be carrying the Twisty Solid with me to Vegas for Nationals.

really? the diff is higher and rg lower on the TF solid usually bigger hooking ball. plus the copperhead uses the OLD powercoil 18 cover. and this is better oil ball? teaches me to read specs...

Awesome, thanks for the layout suggestion. My Pin Slasher is definitly not an oil ball, i have trouble getting it to recover on my house shot. Maybe i'll get two maxx zones?
