Do not buy or trade from this kid. I gave him the benefit of the doubt when I "traded" my impulse zone for his strike zone. He was so anxious to ask me when I was shipping the ball and when he was going to get it, I got 15 e-mails from him. As soon as he got it all communication was cut off and I have still not recieved the strike zone. It has been three weeks. All attempts to contact him are ignored. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HIM, I reccommend putting in your ignore list. maybe I should have known better.

i wouldnt have done business with him, just reading his posts and his level of annoyance on the boards, would have been enough to deter me.
and he had the nerve to offer me a used quantum leap for my NIB Quantum Raven, then has the nerve to tell me the leap is better than the raven in my own F/S thread, what a punk, another teenage waste.
hope he shipped it parcel post and it's just slow.
14 year olds are cheap, no income!

He said that he shipped it last weekend in an e-mail but I still have not recieved it.

He's 14 and very immature, I never trusted or liked him.

Scroll down to his review. I PMed him calmly to stop acting immature, and he responded using curse words and such, as in still acting immature.
No offense, but anyone under the age of 16 I wouldn't trust. At all.

He also tried to hijack someone's F/S post for a Ravage by posting his own. And not just one post in the other guy's thread, I think it was about 5 or so.

If he used USPS it would'nt suprise me if you got it next month. If he used UPS, FEDEX, or DHL, it should be there by now. All 3 of those services are 5 days or less transit times. USPS gets there when it gets there.

Once again, a possible bad transaction with a 14 year old kid.. Sorry, but I guess I have been on here long enough to know.. Do NOT deal with kids, period. I know not all of them are bad, but its not worth taking the chance with me..

Currently looking into the whole fraud thing. thanks fellas
--------------------

Could be fraud. BUT normally, legally, it would be nearly impossible to enforce any sort of contract (sale etc.) involving a person under 18 years of age.

That is exactly why I will never deal with anyone under 18 on this forum.. I don't care how good of feedback they have. If someone has to depend on their mom to take them to the post office to pick up a money order, sorry I am out on that..

why not? the state of New York charged an 8 year old with homocide last week........why cant we prosecute a 14 year old for fraud?
-edit- before anyone flames me and says "Well thats different".....the kid was playing in an empty schoolbus that was left unlocked and released the brake, causing the bus to run over an 8 year old girl.........but apparnetly he knew exactly what he was doing and had every intention to kill someone. so again, what stops this fine country from prosecuting a 14 year old for fraud?

quote]
Because most state laws prohibit minors from entering into legally binding contracts, based really upon the notion that adults might prey on their naivety. These laws are for the protection of the minors in this instance.
That is obviously not the same as a minor committing an intentional violent act. Under that circumstance the law acts as the protector of the victim. And in a way that is exactly why minors may not be legally bound to a contract, they too are the ones being protected by law from becoming a victim.
An adult's ignorance of the law (the one that does not allow minors to enter into written or implied enforcable contracts) does not disallow that protection for the minor. Personally, I wouldn't attempt any commerce between myself and a minor. But that's just me.
I am not nearly as familiar with the aspects of fraud as I am with contracts. So, possibly, there could be merit to a fraud argument. BUT, I suspect that this was more of a contractual obligation between these two parties and if so the minor in this situation would be under no obligation to fulfill his end of that contract.

BUT, in this situation cant the parents be liable for his actions as in such other cases when minors mess-up ?

Depends on state law. Contract law is usually pretty clear and it doesn't appear as though the parents were any party to it. In my experiences in CT and FL I wouldn't think that the parents could legally be held to be responsible, but if they were any kind of parents at all it would seem a good way to teach responsibility to their child.
Overall though it is in every adults best interest to not negotiate a written or implied contract with a minor. It is not an even playing field, nor should it be.

Not all kids are bad though. If you want to go that route fine but we were all kids once.

I didn't say one word about all kids (or any kids) being bad. You did the deal and brought up the topic. Merely stating the risks (all on the adult end and risks I prefer not to be bothered with) that an adult assumes by entering into a contractual type business deal with a minor. That's my preference, not a referendum on whether all kids, no kids or any kids are good, bad or indifferent.

He replied to me today. Said his computer was broke and he was at a funeral. So... he said he is going to ship the strike zone today, we will see.

Not trying to start anything, but this same user has been posting nearly every day for the past couple months on BBE I know going back through the month of may, he did not miss more then 2 or 3 days. You can look here http://www.bowlingballexchange.com/search.php?searchid=12987
He has a different screen name over there (bowler0208) , but similar profile, and has tried dealing the same balls there as he is here.
USERS PLEASE BEWARE UNTIL THIS MATTER IS RESOLVED!

Yeah well I am seriously going to look into the internet fraud thing. It sounds like I was the first in a plot to betray a whole bunch of people. I am not far away, I live in ohio and I have his address I was thinking of taking a day and driving to his house. Either to get the ball or tell his parents about what he is doing. I sent him an e-mail today, heard nothing. I am getting PO'd now

I had someone on ebay try to rip me off years ago and I called the local police department in the area and they went and paid the guy a visit and I had a refund in the mail that next day.. I would call the police and tell them. The only issue I see is the amount of money involved in your case. I was out almost $500 bucks and the police where able to help me out because it was a felony.
good luck..

Sportwood, glad to hear that he finally shipped the ball. Please keep all of us here informed on when you recieve the ball, and what condition it is in. Either way I would still recomend not dealing with this user unless he is willing to ship first.

I'm interested to hear the results, but I'm not sure I'd do anything with him regardless. We had recently worked out a deal and then he dropped completely off the map. No communication, nothing.

I understand those situations but thats not the problem. The problem was for three weeks he was posting on here on other threads and ignoring my 15 messages. Then when he did say something it was two words and nothing else. Then he told me his situation and he would ship the ball. He had 2 and a half weeks to ship it before his situation and he didnt, and he ignored me the whole time.
