chris-m, didn't get ball.
« on: August 12, 2008, 01:24:43 PM »
I purchased a T-road solid over a month ago from chris-m, and didn't get the ball. He got the money, and said that he had shipped it off right away, but I never got it. He couldn't tell me what address he shipped it to, and couldn't give me any tracking info either. $40 gone.

Lets see:

He had a ball for sale
Got the money for it
Claims to have shipped (no tracking info)
Has the other party make a complaint
Tells the other party too bad

What is the difference?

The amount of transactions doesn't matter....he is basically telling the other guy that he is not getting the ball, so shut up and deal with it. I would be calling his sponsors at his school.

Oh, I get it. I understand what your saying. You seem to know him and say he is a good guy, and thats fine. To the users on here that do numerous deals a month and sometimes a day, he is just another notch in the long line of dead beats that have screwed people over.

What I'm trying to say but you don't seem to get it...Chris is a good guy and I wouldn't think he would do something like this. So, yeah it sucks that Chris can't get him the ball but Chris should repay him the money when he gets it. I'm in no way sticking up for Chris because he should have dealt with the situation better, but I understand he was busy moving into college. A simple email would have been reasonable saying he was preoccupied for a few days and will deal with the situation after.

Hey bowler, did you even read Chris M's replies on the 1st page of this topic thread?  If you did, you would see that he's blowing it off.  Even though he was the one that didn't provide the tracking # & he was the one that has apparently "lost" said tracking #.  Give me a break.  I don't care how "good" of a guy he WAS.  He obviously ISN'T a "good" guy now, just by reading his replies.

Haven't replied in a while, I didn't know this thread blew up and hadn't looked back on it! So the update is....that Beans kicks ass! Beans went out of his own way to help me figure out what happened here, and if you are reading this I thank you very much for the effort you put in to it.

So the deal is this:
Chris DID send the ball it appears! Beans was able to dig up the shipping info for me. That doesn't mean there wasn't a problem. Here is the last PM I send him before it was shipped:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
$42 sent to you from myhotmailname@hotmail.com for the T-road solid. My mailing address is:

My home address
Vancouver, WA 98685

Any questions about anything, just let me know. Thanks again.

The big problem occurred when he shipped it to the address on my paypal account, after I sent him that message containing the correct address. Oh well i guess?

No problem at all. I was able to find it just in time as my history was about to lose your shipment. Glad I can help.

im out of money at college.. I have $1 in my wallet right now.. no joke either.
so i can't afford to pay him back the money.. and since it's technically UPS fault I probably wouldn't. I just can't prove that the ball was ever shipped since i have no tracking number.

again, sorry for the circumstance but it's out of my hands at this point.

This shocks me as an avid seller/buyer here on BR.com I can't believe that someone can even sit at their keyboard and type this crap!! I think that he should be banned from the site.  Luckily Beans was able to help out, but what if this becomes a recurring issue?  I know this isn't an auction site, but we have to hold users accountable in some shape or form.

I'm sure, by now, that most people on here knows that I never have money and I try as hard as i can to help out on this site. But even though I never have money, I would make sure to pay the other person back somehow, if its sending him(or her) money once I get it, sending him(or her) a different ball, or talking with him(or her) about what kind of deal could we make to get everything back togethor. But what I am trying to say, if UPS or whatever shipping company loses something during shipment, then I would find a way to get everything back together. That is just my two cents.

OK...just so everyone knows how UPS works when they lose a package...and I know this, because I had to deal with them delivering a brand new digital camera to a wrong address:

The SENDER is the one that has to file the insurance claim with UPS (unless he sends a document relinquishing his place as the person to deal with (like what my seller did) so that the buyer can then fill out the forms. Then, after UPS looks over the claim, it will be decided whether it's fraudulent or not. THEN, if it is deemed that this is a credible claim, then they will reimburse whoever filed the claim.

Hope this helps out...

Big Willy Style

PS...the claim has to be filed within 6 months of the date of shipment!

What buyers that use Paypal need to do is make sure they put the proper mailing address in the paypal payment. Most sellers just click the print label option and never see their notes to send to different addresses. That is what happened here. Beans
