I broke a ball monitor in a tournament in Tulsa a few years ago.  Needless to say, I haven't been back.  They were not happy AT ALL, and wanted me to pay for it.  It was a LONG ordeal, but I ended up not having to foot the bill (which is only fair when the monitors are only like 8 feet off the ground and half way down the approach)

Well, I'm about 6'1", and my backswing goes vertical, and then curls above my head a bit.  Anyways, I was bowling the tournament, and I had been hitting it all afternoon and I didn't think anything of it.  Well, along comes a split, something like the big four or 6-7-10, something of the sort.  I just kind of wind up to really get behind it, and BOOM!  The ball went into the bottom of it, my hand comes out of the ball for my follow-through, and then the ball just slams to the floor.  Everybody stopped to see what was happening, and I was shocked, but laughing my a-- off!  It was priceless, and something I won't ever forget.

It was awesome.  A few of my buddies who went to the tournament with me, we were YABA young ones then, still won't let me forget about it to this day...lol

I don't doubt that one bit.  To this day, there are still some older houses with the same situation, low monitor above the approaches, that I will not and can not bowl at, and it sucks.  But, thats one thing I am working on fixing, my backswing, especially after tearing my bicep, bowling of all things...LOL

its nice to know i am not the only one who can hit monitors  lol.....


i still cant beleive to this day that i hit one.......  its kind of amusing

luckily i didnt do any damage


peelinonit, i cant beleive i struck on that one too.......  even though after i hit the moniter, i felt like i was throwin the ball like a lil kid to make sure i didnt hit another one..

Lane1convert,
 A friend of mine who is a bowler tore his tricep so bad that he had to sit out an entire bowling season to let it heal. Funny thing is that he did it while playing softball in a tournament at the end of the softball year right before bowling was scheduled to start.
 Another friend of mine who is a stroker tore his bicep when he was bowling. He told me that the had felt that the grip in his thumb had come loose in his backswign and he was trying to stop the ball but it was already in the downswing and that's when he did it.

I tore my bicep two years ago bowling, and I was out for about 3-4 months.   Ihad to go through physical therapy 3 days a week for about a month or so.  I'll have to say those were some of the worst months ever, not being able to bowl, or anything at all.
