DonSVO....Bad Transaction (No Show)

Had a deal set up for almost a week for him to meet me at a local bowling alley and buy an Emerald Buzzsaw from him. He messaged me on Friday and said he would be there on Wednesday with the ball if I would bring the cash. Well, I did and he never showed. I messaged him as soon as I got home on Wednesday night to give him a chance to explain and told him I did not do business that way. I also noted that I would wait until the next night (tonight) before I posted negative feedback on him so that he got my message and would not be shocked to see this topic. Now I did not lose anything or get stiffed for any money. For that, I am thankful. However, I do not believe this is a proper way to to business as many other faithfuls on this site know. I have admittedly had a good transaction with him before although I got the worse end of the deal by my own fault. Ball I got was highly polished and I didn't notice it had been plugged more than once or I wouldn't have bought it. I just feel it necessary to post this experience. Thanks and good luck to others who may deal him. I know I won't ever again. If he does actually screw someone on here, please contact me as I will happily rectify any situation I can with him for you.

Update....he did respond with a message to me this morning saying he just didn't think about it. Whatever.

I just... didn't... think about it? No, sir. You make it seem like I just didn't give a sh!t. Charles: I've known you for almost 2 years. This is kind of petty, don't you think? What pisses me off is you sent me the Angry Message at 9:40 PM... which means you left the alley right after league and went straight home to send it. Knowing what the drive is from the alley to your house, you obviously didn't wait around long.

I think this would be warranted if you got screwed out of money/ball on the deal... but I didn't stiff you out of any money. We could have just squared this up in PMs. I offered in the PM to meet you again next week or this weekend. I PMed you and explained the situation. I was the one driving 45 miles out of the way to drop this ball off for only $25, where you already bowl league on wednesday... I told THREE in-the-bag buyers in a row that it was sold since I agreed to sell you the ball. Why would I push off 3 different buyers to sell it for $15 LESS? Because I was selling to a friend.

As I said in our PM, I am sorry I didn't message you, but i got called into work Wednesday morning with an emergency and put in 13 hours. I completely forgot about it. Yesterday i worked 11-11, and hadn't even checked the site since Tuesday.

Again, I apologize for not showing up, but i didn't leave work until after 11. As you stated in your first post in this thread, I explained it as honestly as I could in our PM and you still feel it nescesary to leave this up. So, in your words, whatever.

Call it petty if you will. I DO NOT DO PEOPLE THAT WAY, PERIOD. If I say I am going to be somewhere for a business meeting or deal, then I make it a point to be there. If I can't make it for whatever reason, then I am there and if not, I at minimum attempt a contact. You make it sound like you were intentionally driving out of your way for just this transaction when in fact you messaged me and told me that you needed to go to the center to "meet up with the team that you were bowling with in the next league." Don't attempt to turn this around, you screwed up, not me. I pulled money via ATM at the center thinking you were showing up and you didn't. I don't care about the stupid ball but you agreed to the deal on your own as did I. I upheld my end, you didn't. End of story. Anything else to be discussed from me will be face to face as we are bound to run into each other so save it for then because I know I will.

i am deleting everything except my first post, which is my response towards your complaint. everyone who reads this thread will read my 1st reply, which i think speaks for itself and the situation.

i am sorry for not PMing you, and i again apologize for not being able to make it wednesday. i wish you could be more understanding, but to each their own. i still consider you a friend.

Wait a minute.....you know Jodie's (My Sister) phone number and know that she bowls with me on that evening and didn't think to call her and let me know you wouldn't be there. Like you said, you had 3 other offers to sell it for more so do it as that's probably why you didn't show up anyway. As far as I am concerned, you are a deadbeat. Before you going spreading someone's confidential information (such as their career which I don't like people knowing) then you need to think twice. Oh, and it takes you 2 hours to drive 45 miles? On what, a bicycle? Save your mileage and keep your ball. I don't need the hassle. As far as threats, whatever. If you feel threatened then it is because you screwed up. However, feel free to forward any messages to the local police department for investigation. I am finished with any further bickering back and forth over this. Nothing will change.

What would happen if you guys both swallowed an equal amount of pride, pressed the reset button, and tried this one more time.  It appears that there's enough rational thought on both of your ends to get this settled.  Buy each other the adult beverage of your choice, make the ball deal, and call it a day.  Just my .02....

Like 230 said, how about you guys swallow your pride and try it again. Because right now, it's just becoming a VERY petty "he said/she said" situation....Both of you aren't looking great right now.

So just try it again, or let it go....Don't hold a grudge over this.

as far as the friendship goes: the ball, pun intended, is in charles  court. i've made my apologies and it is up to him to accept or not. if our friendship is to be ended over this i agree, it is childish. i am trying to kee that from happening.

Look, "friends" is a word that I use carefully. I have NEVER called you a friend Don. Just because you bowled for approximately 2 months on and off with me while you were on my sisters team, doesn't make you a friend. I choose my friends carefully. You were merely an aquaintance. I am not going to argue the issue any further. I agree with a couple of posts here and will simply leave it at this. I always post on transactions from here, both good or bad. I never steer from the truth or reword issues or events to work in my favor. Bottom line is the $25 for the ball just simply isn't and hasn't been worth the hassle. I attempted once and that's as far as it goes. I'm done with it.
