ebay question
« on: May 09, 2007, 04:28:49 AM »
how long would you wait before filing a report either w/ebay or paypal for money paid and NO FEEDBACK AT ALL about the sale? I guess i've been spoiled by other sellers, but i won a ball may 1, shipping price was not included, messaged the seller and the price was sent within the hour. I paid that night and asked for a tracking or shipping #. Nothing. They completed the action through paypal and have my money. I have messaged every day since asking for the number. No number, no ball, no email. This seller has a top rating, over 100, and a 99.9 positive feedback. That what has kept me from doing anything and just waiting, but how long is too long, even for just a tracking #?

Well it's May 9 now.  If you won May 1 and paid that night, he's had five business days to get his act together.  Unless he's halfway across the world, assuming he shipped on May 2 or 3, you should have your ball by now.  Was it something that was discontinued, possibly hard to get?  He may have expected to drop ship from the distributor who turned out not to have any stock.  He should let you know that if that is the case, but I'd start getting worried.

Is there a phone number to call?  I'd try to get in touch with the seller directly rather than through e-mail.

that does not sound good... I have had a similar experience on ebay with a seller with 100% feedback.. if you can, list the seller here so we all know not to deal with him/her..

I believe you have to wait a certain number of days before filling out a report on the issue.  7 days may be the max though, not sure.

Usually, when doing that, they want you to try and contact the person.  That's done through eBay as well (or maybe Paypal).  You give the item number and it will send you the information as well as something to the other person letting them know you requested it.

I think it all depends though.  I would post the name of the person to people you trust or to some of the more known users here that are on eBay quite often.  Perhaps we've dealt with them and know something you don't.

There are a few eBay users that people have had issues with on this site.  I can think of 2 or 3 that I've had issues with and easily more than that in the 4-5 years I've been here.

Just don't do one thing....don't wait too long!!

If you used PayPal, there's a section on there to check Shipment, it will show a Tracking Number, if they used the PayPal shipping feature. I list the FedEx Tracking Numbers in there as well, that way the buyer can check the Tracking Number and status any time they wish.

Good Luck !
