BOWL.. c'mon now. *completed*
« on: May 24, 2006, 02:43:21 AM »
Buying a Fear Factor from him.  Paid over a week ago and have recieved little feedback.  Asked him several times to provide me with a tracking number and I have yet to get one.  He told me two days ago he got the money order, though I had no idea it should take five days for a MO to go from Indiana to Maryland.. but I'm not holding that against anyone.  Maybe it's just me, but I'm getting pretty impatient from the lack of contact and still not having a tracking number.

Not saying he's a bad seller yet.. just saying he needs to supply me with some information as to why it's taking so long, since I'm not getting anything back from messaging him.

Anyone else ever have this problem with him (or possibly anyone else, and what you did/would do to compromise)?

I shipped two packages last Thurs and both were delivered today, so something shipped on Friday and being delivered tomorrow (Thurs) sounds reasonable.

It all depends on the shipping method and the distance between the two points.

I don't know what website you went to, but I've checked the DHL website everyday since I got the tracking number, and it is yet to track anything, even now.

That's from just a few minutes ago.  So, please, before you talk about everyone's jumpiness and accusing me, in full caps, of being wrong, give sufficient proof.  Nothing against you, Grant, but it just does not work for me.

EDIT: I changed the link, since the first one was illegible.  You may have to zoom on this one, but you can read it nonetheless.

Clearly there was miscommunication on the tracking number.  Although, I know I asked you to check the number way back when we first started this whole thing.

As far as losing your friends on here, I know you want me to apologize for that, but I don't see where I held accountable for it.  Yes, it is all due to a slight typo that wasn't caught in the tracking number, but it's not my place to tell others to change the way they think about you.

I will say to everyone, though, the tracking information works and the ball is set to arrive today.  Grant may have taken his time sending the ball (without communication) which was a matter of his own priorities, but the ball was sent and he was never planning on cheating me out of this deal.  Maybe I was quick to jump to conclusions, but I think that's completely justified considering my situation.

So, I guess if I am to apologize about something as you want me to do, Grant, the only thing I can apologize is that I am sorry that you took your time then gave me the wrong information, potentially causing other members to think differently of you.  If they hold something against you still after this, that is clearly between you and them.  I've said my peace, and I still do not feel liable for whatever they feel about you.  It may have been a careless mistake, but see what can result from negligence?

Stever5000,

I have read this post from the beginning and you honestly have reacted like 99% of the members on this forum would have reacted. There is nothing more aggravating than expecting a tracking number in a timely manner and not getting it. if something comes up and the seller can't get the ball shipped out in a timely manner, a message to the buyer stating what happened should be sent. There is no excuse for that not happening..

Good communication is a must in ALL successful transactions..

Well, everyone, the ball arrived.  I guess this was a prime example that communication is a must.  Not only communication, but accurate communication, if that makes sense.  I can't say it was a bad deal since he got what he wanted and I got what I wanted, so I'm just going to have no comment about it.  He feels that I ruined his reputation, but I still don't see it my fault, so I'm not going to worry about it anymore.

It's finally over.

An OK deal is when everyone gets what they bargained for.  A good deal is when good communication eases the mind while the deal takes place in a timely manner.  Even if it was unintentional, BOWL turned a good deal into an OK one.  Hopefully every can learn a little something here.
