Guys, make sure you pack the balls WELL
« on: March 01, 2004, 03:32:41 AM »
Not too long ago I recieved two balls that were cracked due to no protection in packaging, just a ball in a box that usually gets tossed around place to place throughout fedex or UPS.  I always try to make sure I pack balls with excessive newspaper, plastic bags, or bubble wrap.  Just make sure that you pack the balls so they do not move in the box or else this might happen to you.

AMEN to that! I've been lucky so far. A couple of the balls I've received have been just balls in a standard bowling ball box and securely taped shut. I'm amazed they weren't scratched and damaged more than they were!

shipping in a standard bowling ball box, without any padding, to me shows the seller is not taking care of business the right way.  i think there really needs some type of agreement when deals are made that each ball should be surrounded by at least one full layer of bubble wrap.  everyone thinks these balls are strong enough to handle anything when they se them hit the pins, but they dont realize the stress put on packages when being shipped thousands of miles.  a standard system would be good, and i think it would decrease the number of problems when trnsactions are made.

I'll second Dustins comments...

just double box them guys with a plactic bag around the ball inside. You dont even need to use the original plastic bag...a WalMart bag works just as well.

But please people...double box. And if you can't find boxes, try WalMart. I have found that the boxes from Pennzoil and Castrol motor oil work very well. You may have to cut it down a bit but other than that you are good to go.

If I could find a souurce for buying single ball boxes I would do it since I am getting sick of taking 4 ball cases and revamping themminto single ballers.
