Title: Make them pay
Post by: hskrntx on March 03, 2004, 12:43:24 PM
OK, how about we REALLY start going after the people that rip others off on this site. Not only do we contact whoever we need to about internet fraud, as well as theft, but we start contacting the ABC, WIBC, and YABA about these people in an attempt to take away the one thing we all on this board love, their right to bowl in sanctioned leagues!? Should be able to get their sanction cards revoked, shouldn't we?

Im not sure if they would revoke there cards just because some people say they got ripped off, BUT if there is proof, there could be a possibility. If we could do that thought, it would be so torturess, I like it.

AM not A CHICK OF BOWLING but I wanted to be in Manda's clique And why would I "saw" pins in half, THATS A WASTE OF PINS! I'd rather blow it over with my storm, and 21mph ball speed on dry shots.

I'd be curious what provision of the rules would apply in bringing a charge to their local association.  It would certainly be an interesting tact if available, but as TBK25 said, I don't think it is an option we have available-  being scum of the earth is, AFAIK, not against ABC rules.

We should start a new post.... the names of people that ripped others off should all be added to this list so we are all aware of those users. Then maybe if somebody looks at the post and has an address or phone # then maybe we could get something rolling on the goods or money that is owed to some people. Let me know if this is something that the b/r community would be interested in. I still have yet to be compensated for a ball that somebody never sent me in a trade.

Thanks,
Tim

OK, so I'll have to research the ABC/WIBC/YABA's rolls again.  But quite some time ago when I was an Association President, it was my understanding that their rolls was to promote the sport of bowling and "protect" their members!  This included ripping off leagues and league bowlers in whatever manner! (stealing league funds, not paying league dues, etc.)  If the ABC/WIBC/YABA is NOT going to step in in these types of situations, then what are they there for? (just MHO)
We can also contact the bowling centers, their local associations, and any pro shops in their vicinities, to warn them about these ripoff artists!  I know if any of you find someone here in this part of Texas ripping you off, contact me and they'll have a Gunnery Sergeant, one each, on their butts!  And I will insist that the local association(s) get involved!

There is a difference in playing watchdog for league officers who abscond with league coffers or bowlers who do not pay league fees...however, I do not recall any rules that provide the authority to take action on issues outside of the league or tourney environs.  Please do let us know if you find something though...
