This is my last post on this guy (Phil McMurdy) ...
To make a long story short, I was PMed by him the third week on August in reply to my search for a 15# RotoGrip Silver Streak pearl and he said that he had two and that they were going for $100 plus shipping ... I select one, we work out payment and shipping details and then NOTHING !!! I finally hear back from him over a month later and he tells me that the one that I had picked had been shipped ... I PM him back after a week or so, no ball; THEN he tells me it's on order.
Then, in October, he tells me that he's waiting for his brother to complete an inventory to see if they are still available. I talk with him on the phone, patient and supportive to what he tells me, and continue to wait and hope. This evening, after over 2 1/2 months of tap dancing, he finally replies to me after I send multiple follow-up PMs asking for status of the inventory, and tells me that the two that he had were sold "awhile back" and for $79 shipped !!!
If you got something from him at a good price and were satisfied, I'm very happy for you ... count your blessings. Speaking for myself ... he's a liar, a smooth talking flim-flammer, not trustworthy at all, and I DO NOT RECOMMEND HIM AS A SELLER to ANY of the roomies in here that I have grown to respect.
In addition, I will be on the lookout for anything that he trys to sell, in here or on eBay, and I'll pass on my opinion to warn other honest bowlers to be careful in dealings with this guy.
As a New Yorker myself, I'm ashamed to acknowledge him as a New Yorker. All that I can say is,"What goes around, comes around."
