I'll have to agree - that Fedex experience of yours was probably one of the worst cases of incompetence that I've ever seen from a 'delivery' company.
A few days ago I mentioned to the FEDEX desk folks what had transpired, and they too couldn't believe it. Of course, they might have just been providing me with customer service sympathy, then just laughing about it over lunch. Who knows?
