Responding to PMs
« on: March 13, 2009, 04:36:45 AM »
Recently I have sent PM questions about equipment for sale. My last was sent out about 2 days ago and the longest was about a week.

Have not gotten any responses.

Any one else have this problem?

Did you try to lowball someone on their price? Did you overwhelm the seller with lots of questions? These two things are the #1 reason you might not get responded to. If this was not the case, you can check to see if maybe the pm has not been opened yet.

It's also possible that a new user would be unaware of the PM system and would not know what the red Messages means on the left side of the page.  If they don't look, they won't see them.

You can check to see if they were read by the recipient, provided you saved a copy of them, by looking at the Sent Messages column and seeing if the file symbol is purple (unread).  If they are yellow, then they were read and have not responded back to you, for whatever reason.

Copy of PM sent Below: Don't think it is too demanding.

Any pictures and what are the specs. Also what would shipping be to XXXXX

Color code said it was read. No reply

Funny, I want to spend some money but just need a little more information to open the wallet. Things I inquire about are in my price range and I waould pay the asking price.

A little frustrating.

There are many d*ckheads here that will bust your chops and not reply. I had one recently who also did not give me the F*CKING courtesy of a polite "no thank you". How hard is that? How much time out of your sorry *ss life is that, when you initiated the request to begin with? Yes, I am equally PO'd.

Never mind. Put them on your ignore list and get on with your life. Just schmucks are not worthy of your hatred or sympathy or attention.
