laura80 - Use Caution- saddened by the experience
« on: February 01, 2007, 12:29:27 AM »
After a few deals this one went south, for reasons unknown.

1st deal went smooth, rev'd funds, shipped ball.

2nd deal we were suppose to ship ball and cash at sametime, ball went as scheduled, money wasn't sent according to the agreement, two weeks later it arrived. His wife called to verify address,ok I can live with that.

3rd deal as 2nd transaction, but worse. Shipped ball, he rec'd it Nov 31st.
after two weeks I send message asking for payment. It was sent to the wrong address, and returned, then I was told the money order was cancelled and re-sent. 60 day past due I send another message asking for payment telling Jim I felt I was being used, responce was I don't rip anyone off. Still no money has been sent.

Last week I send another message to the effect I would like to have the money or the ball returned undrilled, no response to that message either. I ask him to call me or to pm if he was having financial hardships and I would work out something to ease the burden, a payment plan if nothing else, but if I had not recieved a responce by Tues (2/27) I would be forced to post negitive feed back regarding this transaction, that I prefered not to do so to embarrass him rather to help protect other sellers. To this date all messages have been read and no responce has been made, no phone call either. After several phone conversations with Jim regarding layouts and drilling we had what I felt a good rapport and felt I could trust him, but I was proved wrong.

This makes it hard to trust others, I came from the "old school" your word is a binding contract, if you break it your rep is tarnished, and you are disgraced. Is the amount due $105.00 going to bankrupt me, no, its the principle of the matter, you gave your word and you broke the "gentlemans agreement" in my eyes a valid contract. Do I feel I need revenge, no I sense more regret I've lost a friend who had confided in me and failed to live up to his end of the agreement. Advise to others who may be dealing with Jim aka laura80, have money in hand before releasing the goods, or have him use Paypal.

Jim, I agree with you. I also recieved many messages from this user about some equipment that I was selling... But something just seemd really shady about this user. Glad I didn't go through with anything...

Good luck Steve. Hope you get this resolved.

Wow i sold Jim at least 7-8 balls total this is very surprising to me, tekneek is being to nice to Jim. I hate to say this but Steve never ship without payment first never!!! I have sold at least 300 balls over the last 3 years and i will not ship out unless i am paid first.

Yeah I figured someone, would use it to their advantage. Now the rules have changed. Its hard to change your outlook and realize not everyone has the same moral values and idealistic approach as I was exposed to when I was being reared

for the right users, I have prolly over 40, I would ship first and not think a thing of it.  But obviously tekneek thought he had a great relationship too with Jim but that didnt help him.  Just hope he eventaully makes it right with you.  It's one thing to make a mistake, a big mistake, but it is entirely different to not try and make it right.
