Title: Use Pay Pal!!!
Post by: bigfish on March 03, 2004, 10:00:06 PM
I was looking at the posts, and i was wondering if it would be easier for those that are selling stuff to use paypal.  This because you have to have a approved credit card to sign up for pay pal, and when you get a payment sent to you, you can see if the transaction has been completed.  I do know that there is a service charge for paypal, but i would think that i would be better to pay the service charge rather than getting ripped off.  Let me know what all of you think about this.

Paypal is great but I just sold a ball for $135 and the buyer used Paypal and they charged me almost $5 in fees!! To me, thats riduculous, but its the price we have to pay for the security and convienance of a service like Paypal.

Its great as a buyer (since no fees are involved when buying) but no so great as a seller..

If they only made a ball that would carry that d*mn 10 pin..

Not for nothin, but if you sold the ball on Ebay (for example) you'd pay service fees also... I'm not sure but I've gotta think they'd be around the same as what we pay to Paypal.

I prefer PayPal as payment always when I am buying and selling.

It's by far the easiest method out there, and I get some level of protection as a buyer. Can't say that for checks and money orders.

You don't need a credit card to sign up for Paypal, just an account at a banking institution.

I don't use paypal anymore because I am in a dispute them that I can't win, even though according to their rules, there should be no dispute. I sold a cd player to a guy in canada, he wanted to ship it to a US address, he lives just accross the border, and he works in Washington. Ok cool, NEITHER address was confirmed...mistake on my part yes, but follow me on this one...I sent the cd player to the us address, buyer claims he never got it. I submit tracking info, and they come back saying the address I sent it too was not confirmed and that it needs to show it went to a confirmed address. I e-mail them back saying he doesn't have a confirmed address, I am showing the item SHIPPED and SIGNED for, so there is NO way I should be at fault. I even showed them the e-mail the guy sent me telling me to ship it there. Nothing. Paypal can go to hell for all I care.
