I hope this thief enjoys his stuff. This is bowling for crying out loud. I don't think it is worth getting into that kind of trouble and possibly facing jail time.

These con artist need to learn they can't get away with this crap!

Does you website log ips?  You should be able to track him down through his isp if he isn't too sophisticated.

yeah, I have his IP address, but it doesn't really matter, because they were shipped to the guys home address.  It is just getting the guy because he lives in Canada.

Bill, it is still worth pursuing.  Given that he is out of the country, there are provisions that would allow state and/or federal law enforcement personnel to place him in the Interpol database.  If he gets keyed into the database, it increases the likelihood of nabbing him if he goes through Customs.  It may not guarantee extradition or recompense, but it can certainly make his life much more difficult sitting in the cell while the courts decide what to do with him...

I'll talk to ball drillers  here if the balls turn up for drilling.

Not sure what I can do for you beyond that though.

By the weights, on the off-chance that this was done by a juvenile, look up the phone number for the address and try calling.  If it was a juvenile, talking to a parent may prove helpful.  If it isnt a juvenile, just talking to the person may jar him/her a bit.  You can offer not to pursue legal recourse if they return the items.

14 lbs is popular weight for Orientals and his name suggests he is. The 12 lbs will be for a girl, possibly his girlfriend.

He is guilty of felony and should be treated as such. Trouble will be how or which authority should do it? U S or Canadian.

If I should locate this Harry Lau, he's not going to own up and start paying for sure. He must at least pay or suffer for his attempt to cheat.

Was just wondering if Bill should write to our local bowling associations in Vancouver BC to lodge a complain to have him pay or at least banned from sanctioned bowling.

Bill could supply the mailing address when he writes to the associations. If he wish to do so, I can supply the addresses.

Ball serial numbers will not work. He may sold them off cheap and buy something else locally.

Incidentally, there are 5 full pages of Lau in our phone directory just in the lower mainland.

Glad to report that thanks to the help from fellow BallReviews.com members, we were able to get full payment for the merchandise that was taken.

The real name is Eric Lau.  He called us on the phone to straighten out this matter.
