Very nice offset to the other bullys that have been made. It is a look different from the other 2, Longer and stronger then any of the others that have been made. I drilled mine 4 by 5 which is strong for me. Looks very good on later shifts or after the oil pushes alittle down the lane. This ball will spin but it spins Z so u have to do it on both sides. Then you may use your MB drillings. But I must say I like this ball very much....

Just used mine for first time tonight. Pin above ring finger (4 " pin), CG center of grip. Lanes: spotty wet dry. Let me start by saying I know first impressions on balls are usually good, but I am very impressed with this ball. I was afraid with this drilling it would be too skid-snappy, but it is not. This ball openend up the lane as no ball I have thrown in quite a while. Shot 741 on a shot I am normally not comfortable with (lots of over under). I will post again when i use it on a variety of conditions. Just very impressed with the readability of this ball all the way down the lane. Good skid, nice controlled midlane and strong backend. Good Job Columbia!

If you blame the lane conditions for your bad scores, then you had better thank them for your good ones!!

I've had this ball for about a month now, and it is rather impressive.  My specs:

16#
Med-High rev rate
16mph at delivery
PAP 5 7/16 x 5/8

Ball was laid out for length with an early read on the pattern.  Pin is 5 1/2" from the axis point with a 45 degree angle swung between the PAP, pin, and mass bias.

This ball really does not hook all that much.  I have a Bully and a Big Bully as well, and while I expected it to be tamer than the other two, I didnt expect it to be this tame.  That being said, this ball does a good job as a tame ball.  I have had success with this ball on patterns as they break down.  It seems to be a little too jumpy to use on a light fresh pattern, but as the pattern blends and burns out, this ball provides good length and strong, predictable recovery.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me.

BALL IS GOOD IS U THROUGH IT STRAIGHT OUT FIRST ARROW TO COME IN AND HIT NICE WITH POWER. I AM THE TYPE WHERE I STAND WAY LEFT THROW OUT TO THE RIGHT AND IT COMES IN BUT THIS ONE DOESNT DO IT. I WAS TOLD IT DID FROM THE LOCAL PRO SHOP THE ONE I WANTED WAS THE BIG BULLY. HOPEFULLY THEY TAKE IT BACK OR I M STUCK WITH IT. SPENT $230 ON IT AFTER DRILLING AND INSERTS.

Backyard Bully:

Ball Specs
The ball being drilled was a 1” pin out with 3.50 oz top weight.
Drilling: Pin 4" from PAP and Mb 5" from PAP (approximately 60 degrees) pin is Above Ring finger, 3" above grip midline. Because of the Pin In, weight hole needed at 1:00 angle to remove excessive finger weight.

Bowler Information:
Track diameter is 10 1/2.
PAP is measured at 5 1/4 over and 3/8" up.
Average ball speed (foul line to head pin) is 17 mph.
Axis rotation is typically 90 degrees
Initial rev rate is typically 300 rpm, "Tweener"
Lane Condition and Pattern: Village Bowl in Memonomee Falls WI. Wood Lanes Oiled to 40 feet, semi-clean backends. Bowlero Lanes. HPL 9000 Panel. Oily up front, semi clean backends, carry down issues all year.

REVIEW:
I have to agree with Ed Smaglik's review. This ball does not oil, it skids like any other reactive, but on the right condition and drier lanes, this ball is awesome, and probably one the hardest hitting polished reactives I've thrown. The ball seems for me at least to perform better on wood lanes rather than the HPL 9000 panel. The ball flutters on that panel and oil pattern. Very fast revving core gives the ball a touch earlier read, which I like with my 90 degree rotation. Overall hook I give it a 3-4 out of 1-10 scale. Backend 7-8 out of 10. I totally agree with Columbia's review of the ball, it does what they say.

Compared to my other Balls:
Brunswick Intense Inferno: Seeing that both of these ball boost their new coverstock technology, I thought it would be a fair comparison. The balls are very close in reaction. The Backyard is a touch earlier and smoother at the breakpoint. The intense is a touch more skid/jerky. Both hate oil and love dry. Both also don't seem to suck up oil as fast allowing you to wipe the oil off which should allow the ball reaction to last longer.

Thanks for reading my review.

Alright, got a good amount of games on this baby and have bowled in many different houses. Has a 2in pin, around 4-5" to pap above bridge, CG a bit below and to the right of ring finger. X-hole needed. Left in factory/box.

The majority of the time, used it in my home lanes. A medium shot, fairly long though. Dry outside of 5. Flat 5-5 sometimes, others we have a wall. Shot is never consistent. Anyway, more specs about myself and pic of ball in profile.

This ball clears the heads and mids in fresh oil like plastic and if there is dry backends, this ball will turn the corner. Looks almost like a hook-set reaction. The roll is unique like none of my other balls. Second shift this ball will be ly once it starts reading the midlane a bit more. Not much more to say besides this ball is plain out awesome. The M802 coverstock is super durable even moreso than the Activators I own. I've put at least 50 games on this thing and it could pass off as new. Scratches are miniscule. This ball seems so effortless drilling through the pocket, looks and sounds as though it hardly hits them. It does however hit trememdously and have carried the "how in the world did I get a strike" type shots like I would never have thought possible.

Overall, one of the best balls I have thrown. Creates room when I have none with other balls which is a major plus. If anyone is looking for a eye-appealing medium-lite oil ball. The Backyard Bully is for you.

ok had the pin above the ring finger just a lil bit cg is in palm and this ball has some backend i was standing 25 throwing to 10 and the ball was just snapping on a house shot, first game i shot 236, second game 289, third game 279 for an 804 series then some people wanted to buy the ball from me, but have not sold it all and all this ball is awesome and like i said it really has an agressive backend

I still can't figure this ball out.You can go about 3 frames with this ball and then it goes crazy. It will hook good and then will come up short.I know it's not me.Because I take pride in my Accuracy.I will only miss my target maybe by one board. This is the only ball That I have this problem with.I got this ball to hook on the backend. And it has never really shocked my by taking off on me.It always comes up short.I play the 2nd arrow out to maybe 5 and that is it.
I can't get into the Drillings because I don't know.I just know it is drilled to go long and then make a big move.

I think this ball is fantastic. I had mine drilled in Baton Rouge for Nationals in March. I didn't have much chance to roll it there, but once I got back home, this ball tears up the lanes. The pin carry is excellent, ball rolls very smoothly, and doesn't overreact or skid/flip. I can play it on more than one condition, and so far I haven't averaged less than 200 with it.

If you can throw straight up ten, or hook the lane, your choice must be to stand left, grip it and rip it, for THAT is the way of the Supercranker !!

I got this ball off of my friend for free, and after throwing it, I would have been willing to pay for it.  First off, I'm a lefty.  I had it redrilled with the pin right in the ring finger, and the CG kicked in toward my palm.  I guess I could classify myself as a cranker, maybe a tweener, ball speed at about 17 mph.  This is a nice medium to medium-light oil ball, and the carry is tremendous.  It hits harder than anything in my arsenal... even harder than my Total NV.  When the lanes break down, I pull this ball out of my bag and throw 12 at the arrows, 6 at the breakpoint, and it never fails to blow everything off the deck.  I'm falling in love with Columbia, they just never fail to impress me.

Loved my BIG SHOT!!!Tried a few of the newer Columbia equipment and did not like the performance, over hook, not enough, short life.So I decided to try some of the older stuff after watching a friend in league eat up all the newer toys in the market place.I went out and picked  this little gem up off e-bay for a  song.Have not shot under 620 in league in last 10 weeks.High set of 725.The ball is drilled stack for a good amount of movement in oil. I stand 20 and hit the 15 out to the 5 and wowowowow at the hitting power it has to the pocket.15 in a row thee times. If I can ever put them in the same game I will get my first 300!!! But like my BIG SHOT it hates dry lanes,Although my buddy uses his on dry conditions.I have went out and bought another and looking forward to seeing how it works.
